All Music Guide - Heather Phares
The straightforwardly named Tribal Winds: Music From Native American Flutes gathers 13 performances by Native American and Native American-inspired flutists such as Joseph Fire Crow, Keith Bear, and Bryan Akipa, most of which mix percussion, subtle synths, and nature recordings into the music. Carlos Nakai and William Eaton's "Covenants Shared" are among the highlights of this collection, which fares best on simple, spare tracks such as William Guitierrez's "Song for Grandfather." Though this album weighs as slightly more contemporary than traditional, fans of both ...

    One of my favorite CD's

Excellent native american flute and drumming music. This is one CD I never get tired of listening to. I play it while doing skilled relaxation (a meditation technique), I played it while my wife and I were driving through the desert canyons near Tuscon, AZ on vacation, and it was one of the most memorable times of my life. The music playing made the scenery all the more awe inspiring. This is real musical talent with very little synthesizer / modern sounds - mainly just native american flute alone or with drums with a few nature sound effects on some tracks. This is a collection by some of the most talented artists I have ever heard in any genre. I highly recommend it.
