Overview

Since it rose to prominence 30 years ago, The World Trade Center has been photographed by millions. Yet no photographer shares Jay Maisel's passion. A professional photographer and lifetime New York resident with a view of the towers from his bedroom, Maisel has recorded the World Trade Center since the early days of its construction.

More than photographs of the landmark that was, A Tribute represents one man's love affair with this stunning signature of the New York skyline. Photographed in every season, at every hour of the day and night, in every conceivable light; viewed from the ground, other buildings, across rivers, and from the air, these images constitute the most intimate photographic portrait of the World Trade Center ever created.

Comprised of 98 full-color photographs in this exquisitely designed and printed album, A Tribute is a moving testament to the power these towers had over the imagination not only of New York, but that of the entire world.

In the wake of their destruction, this book is offered as a tribute to all those who share Maisel's love and amazement for these buildings. Let us remember the twin towers not as mountains of rubble or mass graves, but as symbols of strength, courage, and unity. Let this book be an eternal reminder of the beauty that was.

The definitive collection of WTC photographs

I've seen a number of the many books available on the WTC. They all include any number of beautiful images to honor this place. I must say that none other compare with this remarkable collection by Jay Maisel. Mr. Maisel is renowned for his beautiful work from all over the world. He is also a lifetime New Yorker who compulsively photographed the World Trade Centers for decades. The single vision demonstrated here provides a cohesion to the book that many others seem to lack. You follow the towers from construction to final destruction in all kinds of weather, breathtaking light, and dramatic fashion. Jay Maisel has served as inspiration for an entire generation of photographers. His sense of color is unrivaled. Often imitated, here is the real deal. This book was unfortunately printed in limited numbers and may be hard to find, but well worth the effort if you can get your hands on one.

    An Amazing Book

I was instantly drawn to the front cover, it displays an amazing picture of the two Towers. The pictures are breaktaking, The photographer, Jay Maisel, has been a long time resident of New York, and an avid admirer of the Towers. The pictures photographed at all different times of the year, at different hours, and at amazing positions, provide a wonderfully put together testament of these wonderful buildings. Tribute not only provides a testament to these building, but also a testament to all those involved in Sept.11.
