Overview

Both a uniquely intimate look at what makes a sniper tick and a harrowing read filled with dramatic war tales, Trigger Men is a book about killing and what it takes to be the ultimate warrior.

Halberstadt takes readers deeper inside the elusive world of snipers than ever before, from recruitment and training to the brutality of the killing fields. Mixed into the thrilling narrative, for the first time ever in their own words, American combat snipers talk about what it is like to kill a man and what it takes to become one of the elite. Based on hundreds of hours of exclusive interviews, Halberstadt gets inside the sniper mind and shows how Shadow Team confidence led to success that led to even more aggressive operations. Readers will learn how snipers think and interact as a team, how missions are planned and executed, how the weapons work, and even what happens when a bullet strikes its target.

    great book

defintly a great read, gives a good general idea of what its like to be a sniper, pro and cons. and this is coming from a disabled veteran who was a sniper in the war on terror. its filled with great stories from the war as well as some great tips for commaders who may not be totally sure how to fully utilize a sniper on todays battlefield. well worth it.

    I Also Recommend:

    Intriguing read

Trigger Men is a book all about the combat snipers of today's battle front. So the book spends a lot of time covering the work these men conduct in the middle east. Hans lets the individuals that he interviewed tell the stories, eloquent or not. What these men lack in script writing flair, they make up for it with the talent of hunting and killing bad people.
Beyond war stories, this book gives you a glimpse of the tactics and techniques sniper use, their weapons, and a sense of their professionalism.

    Semper Fi!

    Excellent

This is the best book on military snipers I've read so far. It puts you into the mind of a sniper, their techniques and how they deal with the reality that the job is about taking a human life. The author gives fair warning at the start of what you are getting into. It also describes the various weapons used and how they adapt to the enemy's tactics.
