Triple Feature

All Music Guide - Thom Jurek
The Triple Feature series by Sony/Legacy compiles three -- usually well-known -- catalog albums by big-name artists, assembles them in a slipcase box, and sells them at a budget price to consumers. The Eddie Money volume in this series collects three of his best-known albums from the late '70s through to the early '80s. The first disc in this set, the eponymously titled debut album, contains the timeless hits "Two Tickets to Paradise" and "Baby Hold On," as well as fine covers of the Beatles' "You've Really Got a Hold on Me" and the Byrds' "(So You Wanna Be) A Rock 'n' Roll Star." Life for the Taking, issued a year later, contains the smash "Gimme Some Water" as well as the anthem "Rock and Roll the Place." Finally, we get 1983's No Control, which proved to be a bona fide comeback for Money after a couple of dud records and some big-time substance abuse problems. Released at the beginning of MTV's true power, No Control boasted the hit singles "I Think I'm in Love" and "Shakin'." This set proves to be a solid introduction to (most of) Money's best work.
