This three-disc, 50-song set of various Jamaican artists covering Marley tunes is the proof of that, and while nothing here really beats Marley's own versions of his songs, there are enough little pleasant surprises to keep this collection interesting. Among the highlights are Johnny Clarke's flowing take on "Easy Skanking," Cornel Campbell's resonant "Soul Rebel," Dennis Brown's ...

Among the highlights are Johnny Clarke's flowing take on "Easy Skanking," Cornel Campbell's resonant "Soul Rebel," Dennis Brown's "Rainbow Country," and two fine Delroy Wilson outings on "Sun Is Shining" and "I'm Still Waiting." Again, nothing here replaces Marley's own versions of these songs, but for the Marley fan who has everything the man ever recorded, this set makes a nice addendum. [The U.S. version drops Byron Lee & the Dragonaires' "Lively Up Yourself," adds Dean Fraser's "Roots Rock Reggae," and has a slightly different running order on the first disc.]
