Overview

From New York Times bestselling author Francis Ray comes a novel about an extraordinary woman who learns to see life—and love—in a different light…

Desperate to escape her abusive marriage, Lilly Crawford files for divorce, then slips away from her small east Texas hometown with little more than the clothes on her back. She points her twelve-year-old car east, hoping to find a new beginning. When her car breaks down in Louisiana, Lilly finds unexpected employment as the caregiver for a wealthy neurosurgeon named Adam Wakefield, who lost his sight in a recent carjacking.

At first, the handsome, brooding Adam reminds Lilly too much of the troubled husband she left behind, and Lilly reminds Dr. Wakefield of how far he has fallen from the self-assured man he once was. But as the two spend long days together, an unexpected bond develops—one that will be deeply tested. For Lilly must confront her violent husband before she can ever hope to find her best self. And her true passion…

    Amazing

This book was truely amazing. I was right there with them the entire time. I feel in love with Adams strength,Lilly's courage, raged at Eric for hurting Kristen and felt Mrs. Wakefields awakening to Jonathan. The book is very well written. I could picture every single thing going on. When Odette fell i felt her pain. I even saw the physical therapist trying to help Adam and seeing him show off for Lilly was something. Francis Ray's writting style is very unique and it keeps you wanting more. I have read the Falcon saga and I cannot wait to get a copy of Lukes story.

    Simply...

amazing. This book was great from beginning to end. You really could feel and relate to the pain of all the characters. Francis Ray captures your attention and keeps it until the end of the book. I have read hundreds of books and Ms. Ray's are always amazing.

    Wonderful!!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms.Ray at the Essence Music Festival. She kindly introduced herself to me and my friends and asked me to look over her book. I was convinced that it would be a good book and it was!!! On the way back to Atlanta half the book was finished.. She is the type of author that will keep you on your hills until the end of the book. I have read 2 of her books and they have taken less than 1 week to finish.. I highly reccommend this book!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!

This book was wonderfully written. Characters well devloped. Even while i was on page 187 i was already making plans to read it again. Seeing Adam and Lilly's relationship tranforms into something sarced and beautiful really inspired my heart to understand what love really means. I found myself thinking about them even when i wasnt nooking. Pick up this book. It is so worth it. Yeah im putting this book on my "soon nice i read it twice" shelf.

    Definitely a MUST read!!!!!!!!!!

With this book, she truly engulfs you in the story, making you relate to, if not become that woman (Lily) she is writing about. I have read this book several times now since I bought it and the ending never ceases to amaze me. Francis Ray is truly a talented writer and anyone who has not read this book would do themselves and injustice to pass it over. It is truly an all-encompassing romance, that will have you laughing, amd crying, and sighning with the characters. Truly a great read.

As usual Francis outdid herself with this novel. It was gripping and romantic at the same time. I truly enjoyed the read.
