Overview

Landscaping is Nina Quinn's business, but trouble seems to be her middle name. Saddled with a recently expelled, faithless local–cop husband, a teenaged terror of a stepson, and the yappiest, most unhousebreakable Chihuahua in captivity, Nina needs a respite –– and the backyard makeover she's undertaking for her sister Maria and Nate, Maria's fiance, may do the trick.

But, of course, Nate vanishes mysteriously, and Nina's gardening magic inadvertently turns up a corpse. And with a thief on the prowl who's preying on the neighborhood elderly, a suspicious Pandora's Box of a package arriving on her doorstep, and yet another body inconveniently turning up, Nina's going to have to dig into her community's dirtiest little secrets to regain her peace and sanity –– if she can manage to stay alive long enough to enjoy it.

The second installment of the Nina Quinn series brings us more mystery, humor, suspense, and family craziness. The story well paced, the mystery quite satisfying, and the characters just too much fun to miss. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to truly enjoy a romp of a cozy!

After being "forced" to read one of Heather's books for a college class, I was instantly addicted! I have since finished the Lucy Valentine series we had started in the classroom and have moved on to the Nina series. All of her books, including this one, have been great reads and well-worth the money. I have yet to be disappointed by Heather.

This was great book full of mystery and suspense for Nina Quinn when her baby sister's getting married, but before that can happen her fiance Nate goes missing. With only a few suspicious clues being handed to Nina it's up to her to piece together what is going on. Also going on is Kevin's Nina's soon to be ex-husband seems to be hinting around that he made a mistake screwing around in his marriage, but there is also Bobby the vice principal who has a thing for Nina. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the long run. Within Nina's neighborhood is a thief nabbing old women's underwear, for what purpose no one knows. The neighborhood decides to make a neighborhood watch to protect each other and keep an eye out for the evil panty napper. I really enjoy these cozy mysteries they are quick and give you a great amount of mystery and family drama without being fat monsters to read!
