Overview

Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn't ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn't ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future that yesterday she could only dream of having.

Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life.

Then he meets Mia.

She's damaged, troubled, and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia—for the first time in his life—he finds himself wanting to try hard for something, for someone . . . for her.

And then life isn't so easy anymore.

Jordan is everything Mia shouldn't want. A tattooed, cocky bad boy who made his money at poker tables and picked his women up in bars. Yet Mia finds herself falling for him. Then the past Mia was running from quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that's the problem with running . . . you have to stop sometime.

And when you stop, you get caught.

Samantha Towle messed with my emotions and ripped out my heart at one point in Trouble. Mia is an incredibly strong woman though she struggles to see this in herself. She has lived a life of abuse, both physical and emotional, not knowing who she really is as she tries to navigate these waters to survive. As her world begins to unravel, giving her hope for a different life, she finds the strength to step away from what she knows to search for something she lost as a little girl. As she tries to find her Mom, she ends up finding Jordan. Jordan is a pure soul that has lost his way and is trying to find his way back. We get to experience these two wonderful spirits as they help each other navigate new paths in their lives. Truly a captivating journey for both of them.

    l Loved it

This was my first Samantha Towle novel. Loved it! Well written. Loved the chemistry between the characters. I'm sometimes leary about duel POV but she handled it well. Definitely will read more by this author.

Wow. This book was fantastic! It hurt like Hell reading certain parts. I felt her pain, but then I also felt the beautiful love of Jordan and found myself smiling like an idiot. I HIGHLY recommend!

Actually covers serious problems. The story was beautiful and refreshing!

This is my frist book by this author and I am not exactly sure how I found her but i am very glad I did! This story was beautiful. Covering a very real issue it showed, that even when you think you're lost and at rock bottom, you can change things for yourself and there is hope. I highly recommend this book to anyone. Especially those that think all is lost.

    Excellent book

I just loved this book. This is the first I have read of this author and just thought she did such a good job building the characters. Loved Jordon and his humor. Would defiantly read another of her books.

    Great Read!

Fast paced read the ending was a bit abrupt without a lot of explanation or character building like the "great" friendships Mia created in the town.

    more from this reviewer

The minute that I saw that Samantha Towle had a new book coming

The minute that I saw that Samantha Towle had a new book coming out, I was practically stalking her page watching for updates! Trouble is different than The Mighty Storm series and I didn't know what to expect but I loved Mia and Jordan's story.

Trouble addresses several heavy issues for both Mia and Jordan. They both have faced pain, heartbreak, and loss. Both have learned to compensate in different ways and those are brought up pretty early on. I really felt that Jordan is the perfect man for Mia, once he let's go of his man-whore ways and once Mia allowed someone to know about her own demons. Mia, she's broken but also very determined. Seeing her strength grow through the story was beautiful.

One of the things I simply love about Samantha Towle's writing is how with a few simple words, she can make my breath hitch and my heart thud hard in my chest. There were several moments in Trouble that touched me in this way. And she also handled the dual POVs so well! I LOVED Jordan's voice in the story. Nailed it!

For me, Trouble started a little slow but once I got past that, I didn't want to put it down. And I guessed a key part of the story, however it's all about the journey getting there and Trouble allows that to play out. In the end, this was a very touching journey about two souls who helped each other confront their demons. It was sweet and sexy with some very funny moments, including some interesting conversations with Dozer, the dog!

This was my first novel by Samantha Towle and I was quite impres

This was my first novel by Samantha Towle and I was quite impressed. The story of Mia, whose suffered immense abuse her entire life, and Jordan, who is so used to loss that he shies away from getting to close to people, is one that will melt your heart.

First off, Mia, what a character. The trials that she's had to face should be enough to knock anyone on their ass...permanently. But not Mia, she picks herself up and carries on, still brave enough to search for answers and a better life.

Then there is Jordan. He's almost a shell of a man when we first meet him. He doesn't think much of himself, other than he's a disappointment, and he keeps people at a distance to protect his heart.

When these two end up together, wonderful things ensue. This story has it all. There is pain so raw that you will feel gutted from it, then there is happiness so sincere that you will revel in it.

On top of all that you will also have the pleasure of Mrs. Towle's very witty and honest writing style. After literally laughing out loud over the scenes with Dozer, Jordans dog, I knew that I was hooked. I am very much looking forward to reading more from this author!

    Great read

Very different and parts deal with depressing subject matter. Mostly I am thankful that she used a publisher who made the book so we B & N Nook fans could access. Still upset over the shaft she gave us with Wethering the Storm, who would do that with a concluding sequel?!! Hope she continues to earn back our trust. Samantha Towle is a great author I would hate to lose forever.

One of my new favorites. I love Jordan.

This book has become one of my favorites. Best part of all, no cliffhangers with a great/happy epilogue. Didn't leave you hanging wishing you knew what happens to them. Also enjoyed the dual POV and you gotta love Dozer too. You can't help but feel sad for Mia and what she's gone through, but Jordan brings us hope. You will love them both. I highly recommend reading this book.
