Overview

Careful what you wish for...It might come true...

In 1924, Harry, an adventurous archeologist, uncovers his greatest discovery--the tomb of the daughter of Shah Azhi "the devil king", containing the magical stone of Azhi. Legend tells of the stone's great power to grant wishes. When Harry lays his hands on the prize, he's sucked into a bottle to sleep for over eighty years.

In the twenty-first century, lonely museum worker, Edie Ragsdale, has been tasked with cataloguing the contents of a sarcophagus. Among the mummified remains of a long-dead princess, Edie finds a bottle. When she brushes away the dust of thousands of years, a naked Harry appears out of thin air. Because she was the one to wake Harry from his long sleep, Edie is able to wish for anything her heart desires and Harry has to grant it. Only her wishes don't always turn out as she plans and Harry can't control all the outcomes. Come along for a rollicking romp and learn that wishes don't always come true, and maybe that's a good thing...

Warning: A naked genie, hot sex, crazy situations and side-splitting humor. Hold on for a wild ride!

Editorial Reviews

Enchanted in Romance
"This story was funny, hot and greatly written. Edie does not want her days and wishes to come to an end with Harry so she keeps wishing for wishes that get them into trouble, with lots of adventure to go along. Will Edie be able to walk away from Harry when the time comes and he has granted her wishes? Will Harry be able to just let this dream woman walk away from him? I cannot wait for the next book from this author that is for sure."
Romance Readers Connection
"Intriguing and erotically delightful are the best words suited to this story. There is a comic element that keeps the story from being too serious and the overall effect if thrilling and sexy. These two may have you out looking for your own dusty bottle to rub the right way!

    Different but enjoyable

This story is not the one described. This story actually is based on an archaeological find that gives magical powers to any woman that touches it. But, if a man touches it, he then is under a womans control. You can imagine what hot scenes can happen under those circumstances. I would have given this more stars if it didn't end so abruptly and then find it a cliff hanger to lead you into two more mens stories (Will's and Mitch's). One of the other stories overviews is wrong too, but the other is correct. Somebody needs to fix this asap.

    Dumb, dumb, dumb

Do not waste your time on this book. Nit wit woman, lackluster sex scenes and such an abrupt stupid ending that it actually makes you mad.
Do yourself a favor, skip this book.

    more from this reviewer

While a fun read, some of the changes in characters were too unr

While a fun read, some of the changes in characters were too unrealistic to suspend my disbelief. If I'm working to believe that a man can be sucked into a magic bottle for over 80 years, then I need the details and characterization around that to be realistic enough so that's the only thing I have to hand-wave.

Honestly, the only reason this got more than one star is the hum

Honestly, the only reason this got more than one star is the humor. Without it, this book would have been terrible. The characters are flat, basically a make-up of your average romance novel characters,
and hardly interesting. Edie is annoying, half the time complaining that she is independent, and the other half wishing for a man to save her. She hardly seems as intelligent as she tries to claim, and
the continual wallowing in self pity gets very old very quickly. Half way through the book I could hardly stand her anymore.
Lastly, most of the book was horridly cliche. I think the only it could  have been worse was if Edie had wound up tied to a train
track somewhere while a guy in a black coat stood off to the side twirling his mustache and laughing.

    3.5 stars.

What I Liked: I absolutely loved the humor in this book. There was a lot of laugh out loud moments that made this book just so much fun! It also made it easier to forgive some things that didn't always work for me that I will get to in a minute.

I also really enjoyed the storytelling along with the fast pace and the strong characters that were fleshed out extremely well. There's a strong possibility I'll read more from this author in the future. I can't remember how I discovered her, but I'm glad I did. Despite the issues I had with this book.

What I Disliked: I had some issues with quite a few things. First was a major pet-peeve of mine; unprotected sex. I don't give a hooeyif he's from the past, he can still get her pregnant and she can still give him HIV. It made Edie irresponsible and stupid and I didn't care for her at all after that (her pity-parties didn't help her case either).

I also didn't care for how she went from insecure fragile little virgin to confident exhibitionist having sex in front of people with no care about who watches... and in the case of the library sex, any child that is doing school research. Did I mention how irresponsible and stupid she was?

I had several more problems with her, but suffice it to say, she belly-flopped into the TSTL pool. Pretty ironic since she constantly reiterates how smart and independent she is. Some other issues are the biology lesson the author takes us through during the smexy times. That got really annoying really fast. And there's also the incorrect word usage. Seriously? People still haven't learned spellcheck won't fix a wrong word spelled confetti (correctly~)? And the ending was so bad it almost made me wish I had never read the book. To say it was rushed and incomplete would be an understatement. So disappointing.

Final Analysis: A fun and funny beach read that was enjoyable for the most part. The humor is the life-support for this book though. I wouldn't have liked it without that. Right up until the end I was set to give this book 5 stars as well, but the ending (or lack thereof) means I don't want this to be a keeper to reread, so 3.5 stars it is for the entertainment factor.
