Overview

There's one rule for a one night stand: never see your one-time lover again. Ever. So what's a girl supposed to do if the tall, dark, and too-darn-yummy guy shows up at her office?

Texas girl Susannah Quinn fires the first round in a battle of the sexes then hangs on for dear life as the fun and games begin in this sexy romp that's hotter than a bowl of Texas chili!

THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE is Book 1 of TEXAS ONE NIGHT STANDS, a series by Joan Reeves. This funny, sexy romance contains a Linked Table of Contents and Bonus Features too!

To catch a thief, Susannah Quinn, a by-the-book deputy, and FBI Special Agent D. E. Hogan (just call me Hogan), pose as husband and wife and go undercover. Unfortunately, Susannah and Hogan have already been undercover – in a bed at the Houston hotel where they first met.

For her part, Susannah wishes her lapse in judgment would take a flying leap and land on Jupiter. Hogan, on the other hand, wants to get the contrary deputy back in his bed, but the complications caused by family – his and hers – pretty much guarantee that's never going to happen.

Throw in an over-the-hill Romeo and his lady love, a single mom determined to have her own love affair, and the charm of a small Texas town, and you get a story with heart and soul. And passion. Lots of hot passion!

Can Susannah and Hogan, two mismatched lovers doing everything in their power to avoid falling in love, catch a thief and recover stolen jewels? The clock is ticking. They have only seven days – and nights – to complete their assignment and resist the sweet siren call of desire.

I love Joan Reeves' writing and The Trouble With Love is pure page turning escapism.

Susannah Quinn and Hogan make quite the undercover team - undercover on assignment and undercover in bed!

Joan has created a wonderful, fun group of secondary characters who are just as 'real' as Susannah and Hogan.

This is a sensual, funny, battle-of-the-sexes read that is pure joy!

Having read and greatly enjoyed Ms. Reeves' novel, Just One Look, I was looking forward to picking up a copy of her newest book. I was not disappointed. Although The Trouble With Love is laced with humor and sensuality, it's also a poignant tale of forgiveness and redemption and knowing when to let go. Our heroine finds her happily ever after, but not before she faces the ghosts of her past and accepts the future that can be hers. Do yourself a favor; download a copy. You won't be disappointed e

Meet the Author

Hello! I'm Joan Reeves. I write sexy, funny romance novels about a man and a woman who have yet to discover that they are made for each. Why? Because I think the world needs more laughter and love--and especially committed relationships!

Want to know a little about me? I'm a bestselling ebook author. Seriously! (That still surprises me.) I'm also a multi-published print author. My books have been published all over the world, and I'm known all over the Internet for my blog SlingWords, for readers and writers, and for my freelance writing, published under my own name, various pseudonyms, and as a ghost.

In reality, I'm just a small-town girl who ended up in a big city in Texas, and, yes, I do have that distinctive Texas drawl. If truth be told, I lucked into writing as a profession. I say "lucked into" because I knew nothing about being a writer. I just knew that I loved to read, and I loved to write stories.

I write "escapism fiction" because I think the world can be a dreary place sometimes, and we all need a way to escape. I spin tales that will make you laugh and leave you with a smile on your face. I promise you that I always do my best to make sure that you feel your money was well-spent when you buy one of my books.

If you'd like to read more about me or my books, please visit my blog SlingWords.blogspot.com and my website JoanReeves.com. I'll post what books are out, what I'm working on, and what I'm learning from the ebook adventure.

I'm trying to think of a clever sign-off, but all I can come up with is what I laughingly tell everyone is my motto. It's my Vision Statement. I try to live by these words and encourage you to adopt them as your philosophy too.

"It's never too late to live happily ever after."

Happy Reading and Best Wishes,
Joan Reeves

    Thoroughly enjoyable!

What happens when a one-night stand lands on your work doorstep and refuses to go away? More to the point, what happens when you don't really want him to leave at all? Susannah Quinn, fresh from college, returns to her small hometown to work in the local police department. But she's a paper pusher and a frustrated one at that. When the opportunity arises to go undercover with handsome FBI agent D.E. Hogan, the aforementioned one-nighter, she jumps at the chance. But much to her chagrin, she finds herself masquerading as Hogan's wife and sharing a hotel room with him. And so ensues an engaging mystery that will have you turning the pages. Although The Trouble With Love is laced with humor and sensuality, it's also a poignant tale of forgiveness and redemption and knowing when to let go. Our heroine finds her happily ever after, but not before she faces the ghosts of her past and accepts the future that can be hers. Having read and greatly enjoyed Ms. Reeves' novel, Just One Look, I was looking forward to picking up a copy of her newest book. I was not disappointed. Do yourself a favor; download a copy. You won't be disappointed either.
