I absolutely love the series & recommended it to ALL of my friends BUT I have to say I was very disappointed with this book! It fell way short of my expectations! I was expecting to laugh so hard I cried, as I did with the first 2 books in the series! I found myself bored and putting the book down after 10 minutes. I admit I did finally finish the book hoping that with each turn of the page it would get better. Unfortunately I was left feeling like I wasted my time! I know that I am not alone in this feeling. I had asked a few friends, who absolutely loved the first 2 books & had started reading the 3rd before I did, what they thought. They all replied that they couldnt even finish the book!!! Im sorry that I had to write this review because like I said I do love the author!! I just had to say how upset I was with this book!

This book was bitter sweet for me, I laughed so hard I had to hug my womb at one point but I am sad that the series has finally come to an end.
Tara Sivec has given us another great read and I have also realised that I wish my friends were as crazy as Claire, Jenny, Drew and Co. If you are a fan of the first two books then you will love to finish up with this one. And I can only hope in a few years that Tara decides to give us more when Gavin, Veronica and the rest of the 'delightful' munchkins are grown and have their own hilarious escapades to tell!

Now that I’ve finished book three of Tara Sivec’s Chocolate Lovers Series, I can see what all the hype was about. These three books were nothing short of entertaining.
Troubles and Treats takes a slightly different turn than Seduction & Snacks and Futures & Frosting did. While those two books were told from the point of view of Claire and Carter, Troubles & Treats is from Jenny’s and Drew’s points of view. I was a little thrown in the beginning, but I admit this is mainly due to not rereading the blurb before starting the book. If I had, I’d have seen they were the main character’s this time around. I soon go used to being in Drew’s head, and that was a welcomed change. He’s a hilarious character, and the fact that he’s coupled with Jenny makes him worthy of his own book. Jenny’s great too, in her own ways. I especially like how we get her side of the story when it comes to her using the wrong words when she’s talking.
Was this a good ending to the series? I’d say so. Sivec didn’t hold back in hilarious and outrageous moments in this book. Readers will have no worries when it comes to getting laughs. This book is filled with them. This book is also filled with a great story. Drew and Jenny are going through troubles in their marriage, and the author is able to bring this serious subject into the book without killing the comedic elements. She’s also able to not overdo the comedy when it comes to making sure the main storyline is easily followed.
One of my favorite pieces of this book is the addition of children to the group. Before we only had a young Gavin, but now there are more kids and even more hilarious dialogue. At times I don’t know how the author comes up with some of this stuff. It’s so out-there, but so good.
The Chocolate Lovers Series is over, but luckily I have one short story to read. I know I’ll be missing these characters and their crazy lives, so the short story Hearts & Llamas will be calling my name to help me revisit them.

This was the greatest book series ever!!!
I think they should make these books into movies and hand out depends to everyone as they go into the theater. Awesome books with amazing characters! This series is one that you could read more then once and still laugh your butt off. Pure genius!!

What I am going to remember most about this book (and this series) is the sarcastic, over the top, crude humour I absolutely adored it! ~ Under the Covers
Drew needs to form a plan, his former sexy wife has turned from a sex kitten to using a sex swing as a baby rocker. He desperately wants the spark back in his marriage and is willing to do anything to get it. Jenny is exhausted between looking after two toddlers and the over grown child she calls her husband all she can fantasize about is sleep. Can they both get what they want?
I am so sad this is the final installment of the Chocolate Lovers series! Each book has been so good, making me cry with laughter at the crazy antics of this group of friends. But I am glad we get a glimpse into Jenny and Drew’s life, they are both completely bonkers and thus perfect for one another; it was great to be able to see thing from their POV.
This book was centered on how Drew and Jenny are trying to get their sex life and their marriage back on its crazy kinky track after having two children together. But this wasn’t all it was, it also showed what a genuinely loving and close couple they were, which in the previous books I don’t think you ever saw. So although there are a crazy amount of wet-yourself-funny quotes in this book I liked this one the most:
After the last few months, I realize I don’t care about anything but being with her. She is my best friend and my life, and I will do whatever she wants me to do as long as she’s happy.
But, what I am going to remember most about this book (and this series) is the sarcastic, over the top, crude humour I absolutely adored it! I have regularly had to actually put my kindle down and just laugh it out before I could start reading again it was so funny, this is not a book you can read and still expect to appear dignified in public.
I highly recommend the Chocolate Lovers series and Troubles and Treats was a fantastic ending to a fantastic series and I am definitely going to be picking up whatever book Tara Sivec releases next!

This book should be required reading for couples with young kids! I have to say I really enjoyed this book. It is different from her first book, Seduction and Snacks -- which I absolutely loved loved loved. This book deals with issues that are so very real and that I think many couples face after the birth of a child, but Ms. Sivec manages to do it with such humor and craziness that it had me rolling on the floor laughing. Seriously, I read while I workout and people in the gym were giving me strange looks because I would just burst out laughing and totally nodding my head. At times, I wondered if Ms. Sivec had read my mind as some of those inner monologues are verbatim thoughts that I have had. Every few pages, I would run to my husband and say "You have to read this part.. that is exactly how I felt/feel/think" -- and even he was laughing. The book was completely enjoyable, I could totally relate to it, and I would highly recommend it!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
