Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Phyllis Kennemer
The brief rhyming text features a day of observing trucks. Trucks begin to roll at sun up. Some are fast and some are slow. After going over hills and bumps on the way to their destinations, they begin their work. They stop and drop, pump and dump, and mix and fix. Some make loud noises as they are filled with big rocks; others spill some of their loads of dirt. The shadows grow long, and, when dark comes, the trucks are done. They head home to sleep until the following dawn. The colorful illustrations feature trucks of many types, including cement trucks, panel trucks, fire trucks, oil trucks, dump trucks, pickup trucks, and trucks with back hoes and big blades. This is a fun book that young children will quickly be able to read by themselves. It is in the "Ready-to-Read" series. Reviewer: Phyllis Kennemer, Ph.D.
