A Novella of the Elder Races

Alice Clark, a Wyr and schoolteacher, has had two friends murdered in as many days, and she’s just found the body of a third. She arrives at the scene only minutes before Gideon Riehl, a wolf Wyr and current detective in the Wyr Division of Violent Crime—and, as Alice oh-so-inconveniently recognizes at first sight, her mate.

But the sudden connection Riehl and Alice feel is complicated when the murders are linked to a serial killer who last struck seven years ago, killing seven people in seven days. They have just one night before the killer strikes again. And every sign points to Alice as the next victim.

Warning: This book contains a hot police detective, a violent murderer on the hunt, and a heroine that can blend in anywhere

Way too short for the price

Fairly interesting and cute (if incredibly brief) story, what little story there was; but that's just the problem, there wasn't much to it. Definitely wasn't worth what it cost; it should have been free or .99 tops. It was like a 'sound bite' of a story; and it didn't even end, it just stopped. You get to 90%, and at the end of the chapter, some chick in the parade is looking at Bayne and he looks back at her. You flip the page to the next chapter, and nothing, nada - it just stops, presumably a 'to be continued' in the next novella.

    A good read

I really enjoyed this book. This book has more pagan religious leanings than any of her other books ( I suspect the next one will as well). I don't know much about tarot, but she gives a detailed description of the Wyr tarot and gods. This adds to the world building, but gives this book a different feel from the others. Overall i liked it.

I enjoyed this book, but I felt the plot was a little simplistic compared with other books in this series by Ms. Harrison. An enjoyable, light, quick read.

    Story of the past

So you want to know about the past. And so it shall be. After our departure roleplay took a dive. We had managed to gather a strong group of cats though. Bluebell&blueblaze led the clan and we called it the kingdom of belgarium. We were strong but the evil clans were going arter us more than ever because we were one of the only good clans left. Bluebell had fallen in love with a cat named nightshade. They were very close. Or so she thought. So finally the day came when roleplay rates went back up. But thats when they hit us the hardest. Bell&blaze were forced to meet with the evilclans leader. "Surender your kingdom. Or fall with your kingdom"~htaedfo eye gnitaolf (pronounced floggen eye genEtoff. Or floating eye of death backwards. The evil leader.) "I will never betray my kingdom htaedfo!"~bluebell of belgarium "no but i will" *smiles and walks to the evilside*~nightshade *gasps* "n-nightshade how could u?"~bluebell *appears next to nightshade* "oh for me of coarse"~dark female no cat betrays the kingdom and my sister! Fight my army! To the death!~blueblaze so hteadfo eye gnitaolf engeges bluebell in an awsome sword fight. And blueblaze engeges nightshade. In the end with many wounded on both sides but the good winning the evil leader hisses "mark my words begarium will be mine" and leaves with his army. And so bluebell and blaze stand tall both scard and sad at the betrayal of nightshade. "Go my kingdom disperse among the globe it is no longer safe for u here."~bluebell the clan reluctently obeys and so bluebell wanders the globe with her sisters with a broken heart and blueblaze by her side! Hail the unsung hero of the night! ~the blues
