Editorial Reviews

Armchair General
Buhk wrote an engaging, well-documented collection of tales . . . It is his efforts at mediating the sources, the "voices," that elevates True Crime in the Civil War above a simplistic version of Cops. . . . Both Civil War aficionados and fans of crime dramas will find much to enjoy.
— Neil West
Joplin Independent
A rare novelty in the profusion of writing about the Civil War, a volume that takes a different approach.

Have done lots of reading about the Civil War but this book brings out facts that I had not seen anywhere else. The book is well written and documented. Would recommend to all individuals who are Civil War enthusiasts.

A great read, not necessary to read in order, able to skip around and read what interests you. Good for the true crime buff as well as the history fan.
