This review is from: True: 11 (New Species) (Kindle Edition)
True and Jeanie are now one of my favorite New Species couple. I almost didn't finish the story becasue of the way it starts out with poor Jeanie being physically abused my her employer Cornas another experimental facility like Mercile.. What shocked me was her abuse at the hands of the NSO officers who arrested her. Jeanie thinks she is working undercover for the NSO but the NSO doesn't know anything about her. Here lies the problem. Poor Jeanie only wants to help the New Species get freedom, but she has been deceived by who and why?? Well you will have to read to find out. Let me say I loved True and it didn't take him long to believe Jeanie story and start protecting her from anymore abuse. I would love to have Laurann Dohner kill off Tim Oberto the human who heads up the NSO. I have hated him since is daughter Becca's story Brawn. The way he lied to Becca. He was down right cruel to Jeanie. He comes around in the end but it was a little to late me my liking.

True starts out similar to Fury & Ellie's story book 1, but soon turn into its own twisted tale. True is fast pace and at time will have you on the edge of your set. Oh and it is very erotic!! I am so glad I didn't stop reading. Let me say now that Jeanie was Not raped!! so I was really glad of that. Also, I was happy that in some ways Ms. Dohner has tone down the physical abuse to women. This story is different from the others in many ways and I know you will really love it. We get to meet some new New Species and humans. The humans Chris and Jordon I would like to kill myself. We also get a glimpse of old friends and characters we have come to love. Over all I was very impressed with True and it is now one of my favorite N.S.!! I Highly Recommend you to read it!!

    A TRUEly great one!

I really enjoyed this installment in the New Species saga. We get to meet so many new characters and really get a feel for Homeland and life there. And then we have a love story that is in some ways comparable to the first of Ellie and Fury (which I loved!) And the added twists and turns that just seem to rejuvinate this series! The book True gives the New Species series a needed shot of adrenaline! I very much enjoyed it. I also loved some of the cameo appearances of ye olde favorites! I look forward to reading books about these new cast of characters!

It was an ok book. Fury, Slde, Valiat and all the first seven book were good, really good.
This one didn't leave such a good impression and for eight dollars is very expensive.
I would have valued it at less then five, a specially for two hundred and eighty pages.

I like the majority of her books, but this one was flat and dull

I like the majority of her books, but this one was flat and dull for me. It was just a re-telling of Fury but with an expected twist. Everything was so forced and rushed I just could not get into the story. I hope the future books are better because this really caused me to pull back from her series.

    ~ 4.5 True-ly Erotic Stars ~

True is the 11th book in the New Species series by Laurann Dohner. The premise is the same as all the other New Species books in that an evil drug company used, enslaved and mistreated New Species; the freed new species are living in two independent areas within the USA and are continuing to investigate and find New Species still enslaved.

Ms. Dohner did not disappoint. She takes us to a facility that still has New Species that are being used for tests. Showing us a technician who sees the New Species as individual people and wants to save them. I enjoyed the quick fast paced plot with a whole new bad guy who has even more access to information then you would think. As for the relationship we have seen a similar situation in the New Species series with Ellie and Fury's story, but their are differences that make True different. Then we have the sexual relationship between True and Jeanie. Ms. Dohner did not fail us on the sexual tension and explosive bedroom action between our main characters.

I enjoyed Jeanie. She is kind, caring, strong and only wants to help. She went through a lot for True and others in her facility. I was surprised to see this twist, thou it has been indicated in previous New Species books what the bad facility wants. I was pleased to see that she received allies in True and the others from her facility when she needed help. They showed solidarity and friendship. I also liked True in this story. He is so sweet and protective of Jeanie, even thou he felt Jeanie had betrayed him, he wasn't as bent on revenge against her. I admired his ability to stand by Jeanie and support her. It was very nice to see this.

I felt that True had the right mix of romance and mystery, with a few new twists that made it a bit different from the other New Species books. I as enjoyed the little bit of humor mixed in with the danger. True was a truly great read in this series and I recommended it for anyone who likes a little mystery with there erotic.
