Overview

True Stories of Law & Order reveals the fascinating and shocking facts behind 25 of the hit show's most popular episodes - from the incredible account of how a woman's repressed memory leads to the solving of a 30-year-old cold case to the high-profile investigation of tranvestite millionaire Robert Durst. And just like in Law & Order, the actual crime is just the beginning, as you follow these cases from the initial stages of the investigation through the trial and up to the often controversial verdicts.
Part of the reason millions of fans tune in to Law & Order is the gritty realism of its storytelling. The monumentally popular show has included many episodes inspired by actual cases ripped from the headlines - true crimes that are often stranger and more chilling than fiction.

    Cool book

If you like Law & Order or true crime stories, you'll love this book. Each chapter is a separate, complete story so you don't have to read the book in order or in one sitting (although I stayed up half the night reading it). There's really interesting tidbits about police and legal procedure too. Makes for a great read.

    Jennifer Wardrip - Personal Read

Although the book has little to do with the actual LAW & ORDER shows, it does a great job of going "behind the scenes," as it were, of 25 of the show's episodes to explore the true crimes they were based on.

These aren't stories for the faint of heart, but they do pull at the heartstrings. I remember watching many of the episodes the crimes were based on. This is a great book, especially for those interested in true crimes, but anyone will find them fascinating.

The authors have truly done their research and are to be commended.

    excellent book.

This book has all the stuff that bestsellers are made of, true crime, seedy stories, interesting chararacters, and they all come from the cases that are shown on one of the best shows on TV, Law and Order.

    Very Cool Book

This book recounts the real crimes and trials that influenced episodes of Law & Order. Each chapter is a separate little complete story so you don't have to read the book in order. It's really fascinating and there's all sorts of little tidbits of information about police and legal procedure. You don't have to watch the show to enjoy reading this book.
