Trunks

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Theresa E. LaVeck
Brothers Jim and Andy Creeggan initially provided much of the spritely spark for Canadian rockers Barenaked Ladies. Andy left the band several years ago to pursue other musical interests, while Jim has continued with the band through their rise to international notoriety. Despite their separate day jobs, they've continued to pursue music together with several independent releases. Their third release, Trunks, is an extended evening lullaby: soft, sweet, and sleepy think Simon & Garfunkel lite. Unfortunately, the gentle harmonies and guitar interplay dissolve far too quickly, taking the best lyrics with them -- as is the case with the charming ode to sibling antics...

Unfortunately, the gentle harmonies and guitar interplay dissolve far too quickly, taking the best lyrics with them -- as is the case with the charming ode to sibling antics "John's in the Fridge" and its terrific line, "Sat and shivered happy to be delivered/Hey big brother you're like no other/John was in the fridge." The same featherlight treatments melt the touchingly tragic war ballad "Lila" and the quirky "Survey the Situation." Like a summer shower, Trunks is pretty, soothing, fleeting, and all too quickly forgotten.

    i love Brothers Creeggan

This is a VERY good cd. This duo is very musically talented and this cd is very soothing. You have to hear it its great. In my opinion it deserves an award, a juno or grammy or something! I love this band and i love their music. I just wish they played it more on the radio.
