After weeks of rehab, she's back on the ice-alone, and wondering if the Olympic gold will ever be hers. She needs a partner. So does Caden Bae, Canada's skating sensation. But he's running out of time. If he can't make the Olympic team this time around, he'll be forced to give up skating and join his family's hotel chain business. He feels June is the one to get him there. Even if it means suppressing his growing feelings for her in order to force her to make the jump that almost killed her.

They drift together over the silent, ice-covered lake. Caden's body is a rock against June's, his dark hair soft under her fingers, his neck warm against her cheek. She inhales the scent of expensive soap.

"That jump," he breathes. "You soared. I've never seen anything more beautiful."

"Oh, Caden! You've given me back my dream!" It's like she's been waiting for him since she first laced on skates.
