In a deliciously sexy twist on the classic game, USA Today bestselling author Mira Lyn Kelly proves that when playing truth or dare—always choose dare.
After her one attempt at commitment ends in the worst kind of betrayal, Maggie Lawson vows that the only people she’ll love ’til death do they part will be her friends. Unfortunately that means Maggie letting her bestie rope her into a year-long dating dare: score a new date each month or pay a penalty. Seems doable—until Maggie’s date stands her up, leaving only one option: the sexy stud who just moved in upstairs. The problem? He and Maggie can’t stop fighting—and that’s just the beginning.
His name is Tyler Wells and the last thing he needs is his neighbor distracting him with her girl-next-door smile and sharp tongue. Tyler’s in Chicago for one reason: to woo back his selfish ex in order to reclaim the child he once thought was his—and that means keeping Maggie out of his bed. A tall order, since Maggie has become a bigger temptation than he ever expected to face. But before they can even consider leaving the past behind, Maggie and Tyler must accept a brand-new dare: real, forever love.

Praise for Truth or Dare
“It’s clear from the beginning that all the snark between Tyler and Maggie is masking a powerful attraction that they both wish to ignore. Every time they resist just makes every time they give in that much hotter (and sweeter).”Library Journal

Maggie Lawson has completely sworn off romantic relationships—forever—and is planning to pal around with her tight-knit group of BFFs for the rest of her life. Why? Maggie was jilted at the altar when her groom-to-be's pregnant wife crashed the wedding with their two children. Maggie left her small Florida town for Chicago and never looked back. Hottie Tyler Daniels moves into her building and starts out acting like a jerk, leaving their relationship to go from casual neighbors to snarktastic enemies in the blink of an eye. Tyler is in a permanently bad mood: he's just left his life in New York to follow his selfish ex to the Windy City on the off chance that she'll give him another try. He doesn't want her, but he desperately wants back into the life of the child whom she made him believe was his—until her baby daddy returned. So Tyler wants the kid, and Maggie wants to be left alone. But when her friends welcome him into their circle, Maggie and Tyler find their frenemyship moving into a relationship that neither of them says they want. Yet it's one that neither can resist.
Verdict In this latest from Kelly (Waking up Pregnant), Maggie's ties to her friends is terrifically well done. Also, it's clear from the beginning that all the snark between Tyler and Maggie is masking a powerful attraction that they both wish to ignore. Every time they resist just makes every time they give in that much hotter (and sweeter). But the backstories for both characters may crash the willing suspension of disbelief, especially as Tyler's reasoning in every direction makes him act like a jerk fairly often.—Marlene Harris, Atlanta

Maggie tried to welcome the new tenant to apartment three with her homemade cookies, but he was all nasty attitude and snarky comments. Okay, so hopefully he's be out of here soon and she wouldn't have to put up with him. She had her friends and she didn't need Tyler, aka, Apartment Three. Every time they ran into each other they had to bicker and it became a routine they easily fell into. Eventually they called a truce and as time elapsed, they'd become friends with benefits…because neither wanted an actual relationship, each for their own reasons. They could do this…just sex…strictly friendship…couldn't they? Un-freaking-believably-fantastic! I swear, it just doesn't get any better than Truth or Dare by Mira Lyn Kelly! The storyline was comical with a bit of a twist to keep the hero and heroine apart for a while. Truth or Dare was delightful, filled with sexy banter I delighted in frequently. I laughed often, even surprising those around me. Wow, the dreamy, heavenly erotic, sex scenes darn near had me melting in my seat! Yowza, they were steaming hot and kept me completely preoccupied and immediately hooked. I loved the hero and heroine, but also adored the cast of supporting characters and their comical by-play. They were essential to this story and the camaraderie gave the story heart and added intensity. Truth or Dare is definitely a MUST READ… and a KEEPER too! You don't want to miss it! 5 Stars!

4.5 Star Review This story was quite a surprise. I really enjoyed this book and I think it makes for a great read with a lot of sexual tension/chemistry between Maggie and Tyler. Maggie has a great life living with her friends in what sounds like a three flat in Chicago. Tyler is the sexy stud who moves in upstairs. While Maggie is trying to be neighborly Tyler is a little of a jerk. Not deterred, Maggie takes it upon herself to be feisty and gives it back as good if not better.  As the circle of friends grows to include Tyler, Maggie actually starts to like him as a friend and there is no denying her attraction to him. It goes both ways apparently as Tyler is just as in to Maggie. Unfortunately past relationships have left the two of them unable or not wanting to seek a relationship. But the chemistry wins out and the two figure a little fun between the sheets, or on a table or up against the wall, can't hurt their friendship. But when Maggie's heart gets involved and Tyler's past becomes part of his present everything changes. I absolutely love Maggie. She is a rock solid heroine and easily one of my favorite characters ever. She has such a good heart, is a great friend and doesn't overly do the "woe is me". I did have some issues with Tyler and he is the reason for the 1/2 star deduction. In one way he is totally a stand up guy and I really feel for him, but then again his actions are false and he is literally playing someone, even if she deserves it and if it is for a good cause. I wasn't sure how I felt about that and I know I felt horrible for Maggie--did I say how amazing I thought she was? The great thing is eventually there is a turn of events and I almost get the HEA I was looking for. Honestly I was wanting more from the Epilogue but I am hopeful that we may get some of it in the next book in the series. As I loved all the secondary characters in this story, I know I won't be disappointed with the next book. Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A story about neighbors having the hots for each other. They are perfect for each other. But there is something holding him back from making a commitment. The reason is not easy. The author does a great job with the resolution.

This fabulous romance is the story of Maggie and Tyler. When Maggie goes to welcome her new upstairs neighbour into the building, their relationship starts off completely on the wrong foot and the antagonism seems destined to keep them apart - until in desperation Maggie turns to Tyler to help her from losing out on a dating bet she made with a friend. Underneath all that animosity is a spark of attraction that when let loose, threatens to overcome all their defences and lead to something intense and wonderful - if they can let go of the baggage from their pasts and claim a new future together. I loved this story! I thought the plot was really unique - Tyler is a determined, loyal and forthright man, willing to sacrifice his own future happiness in order to be there for the boy he's loved since birth (who turns out not to be his biological child) even if he knows that the boy's mother is not the woman for him. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, his attraction to Maggie is all the more intense for it's forbidden pleasure, that he can't give her the future that she wants but he can't stop himself from desiring her either. You really feel for Tyler and the position he is in. Maggie is an equally engaging character, feisty, flirty, full of life and longing to be with someone who will be true to her. She knows that Tyler is holding himself back from her and that a future with him is not in the cards, but the sexual chemistry between them leads her to the acknowledgement that even if it's just for a short time, she is willing to be with him. The love scenes between them are sensual, erotic and emotional as they try to fulfill their desires for each other without committing their hearts - a task that proves impossible as their relationship develops over the course of the story. The secondary characters in this book, specifically Maggie's circle of friends, add a delightful mix of humour, witty dialogue, thoughtful moments and the overall joy and camaraderie that is found in a group of close adults. As much as I enjoyed the romance between Maggie and Tyler, I also really liked the interactions between the group, and they really rounded out the story well. I hope there will be several more books in the series featuring the other characters introduced in this novel. Overall I found this book to be a delightful contemporary romance with all the elements I look for in a good story - a bit of tension and angst, sexual chemistry, steamy love scenes, engaging characters and a well written plot. Once I started the book I had a hard time putting it down. 5 fabulous stars!

3.5 - "Apartment Three, whatever you're offering. I'm interested." Truth or Dare is the first book I have read by Mira Lyn Kelly, it won't be my last. I really enjoyed her fresh, fast paced writing. The banter between the characters and the one liners was some of the best I have read for a while. Tyler Wells gave good date. What begins as a series of one off dates for Maggie and her friend Ava turns into something so much more when the new guy upstairs turns out to be more than just an annoying albeit hot new neighbor. It turns out Tyler has more going on in his life than just moving cities for work, and as his relationship with Maggie develops beyond the friends-with-benefits they initially agreed upon you begin to see a guy stuck between trying to do the right thing, and what is right for him. One kiss would never be enough. The man had skills. I liked this book, the first 60% kept me fully invested in the story. It did fizzle a little in the second half, I struggled to completely believe the whole Gina situation, and Maggie's somewhat easy acceptance of it. Tyler inevitably does the right thing, which I liked, and the epilogue rounded things off nicely for them. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series Touch & Go, this is Ava's story (Maggie's best friend) and I love nothing more than a friends to lovers story. My Thoughts: This story, you guys. It is one of my favorites of the year. It had a slow start, but it started to pick up and I ended up being so sucked into it, I couldn't stop. I wanted--no, I needed--to find out what happened next for Maggie and Tyler. The two of them don't hit it off so well at first. But that's okay... because when Maggie has Tyler take her on a date to help complete her dare... SPARKS. FLY. You know the fan I am of first kisses... this one just about blew them all out of the water. I read it, and reread it. Oh, it was lovely. Of course, the sparks can only last so long when Tyler has his own agenda when it comes to his ex. He has good intentions, he really does, but it's so hard to see him wanting to turn down a chance at something wonderful with Maggie. But, sometimes life has other plans, and maybe--just maybe--they have a chance after all. Truth or Dare was beautiful and wonderful and amazing. The whole story took me for a spin, one that I wanted to stay on for a long time. Everything built up naturally, and the romance was genuine and sexy. I could read this one so many times and never get tired of it. Ever. I'm so excited for more books by Mira Lyn Kelly! My Rating: Exceptional
