I think I've read all Susan Hatler's books. I like that I always know I'm going to get a great ride and an awesome ending that leaves me satisfied. This is Susan's best yet. Very cute!

Gina was in it for the long haul with her last boyfriend - for too long. He was a jerk that didn't want to get married after 10 years!! So she decides to find the perfect man to marry - and take as a date to Ellen's wedding. She is instantly set up on a blind date that she's just not too sure about. Meanwhile, the hottie at work has a new job so dating current co-workeds is now fair game - and he has his sights set on Gina.
This was hilarious! The way Gina and Chris talk to each other, especially at the beginning with their truth or dare game, was fantastic. These are the perfect length for a quick read before falling asleep happy and with a chuckle. I love how upbeat and positive the writing is and how real the characters are.

This is a fun loving clean book that will keep you smiling and even give you a few laughs. I really enjoy reading this I loved the truth or dare. This is a wonderful short romance with lots of humor, caring, confusion for the characters. Poor Gina has been stuck in a relationship that is going nowhere fast. She decides to end it move on to someone who is interested in marriage and a family. She is oblivious to what Chris really wants in life and who he wants. All her friends play truth or dare it’s a fun game one finds out a lot when one is dared to do things. She must plan a going away party for Chris who is changing jobs, she plays truth or dare with him. He decides to make it worth his wild and asked her to pretend to be his girlfriend which leads to a lot of laughs. She is torn between Ethan her blind date and Chris. Ethan is a sweetheart but there are no sparks he does want marriage and a family. Chris is a playboy who changes women as many times as he changes underwear. There is a reason for this and we do find out what that reason is as the book ends. Sparks sure to fly when those two are together.
Gina doesn’t know if she should go with her heart and the sparks or if she should take the safe road. She has to pick one and take him to the wedding, she decides to take neither. Gina sure is surprised when both turn up what will she do?

This was another really fun, but short ready by Susan. I loved Chris & Gina. It was a little heart breaking knowing how much Chris has pined for Gina over the years. But now is his chance if he can only get Gina to see it.

I LOVED Gina and Chris's story. I think it was very romantic how Chris used the ruse of needing a pretend girlfriend to spend time with Gina. Their role playing banter was fun and sweet at the same time. It was clear to me as a reader that Chris was totally smitten with Gina and had my head shaking at several points when Gina was just not getting it. Ms. Hitler has once again written a sigh worthy love story with a swoon worthy leading man and a realistic leading lady. Enjoyed revisiting with Gina's friends Rachel, Kristen, and of course, the bride, Ellen. Would have liked to have a little more of Henry, the groom. Overall this is a very engaging and romantic love story with a delightful HEA ending. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. I received a copy of Truth or Date for an honest review.
Gina Hall has waited the last ten years for her longtime boyfriend Greg to pop the question. When push came to shove Greg finally admitted he never wanted to get married. Now Gina has been spending the last four months with Greg refusing to leave and eating cookie dough ice cream. Getting ready for her best friend Ellen’s wedding a friend suggests Gina go on a date with Ethan a man more than ready to be married. Fate has other plans though with Gina’s friend sets her up to help with an office friend’s leaving party the two end up playing Truth or Date and Gina agrees to go on a date with him as his friend. When the dates and late night texts become less and less an act and instead Chris revealing his true feelings for Gina and Gina running scared until she realizes she may have just found the right guy for her.
Truth or Date was a short story with great hilarious and realistic characters. Truth or Date was an engaging story that definitely had me on the edge of my seat to see who Gina ended up with. While she did have a couple dates with Ethan from the very beginning I was voting for Chris who was tall, smart, and very yummy. He was honest and definitely swoon worthy.
The only major complaint I have with Truth or Date was that it was so short. I think the story of Gina and Chris could have been so much more if only the story had been longer. Maybe I’m wrong but I feel as if the story of Chris and his connection with Gina was cut a tad short since it seemed like they only started talking in this book rather than throughout their career.
Overall I think Truth or Date was definitely a story about following your heart despite your past. I really enjoyed all the characters and the story as a whole. I wish there had been more to the story but considering it was a novella I guess I shouldn’t. All in all Susan Hatler definitely did a great job with this unique story and I can’t wait to read more of the Better Date Than Never Series. For readers looking for a quick romance this is the book for you.

I really enjoyed this story of Gina. This is the first I've heard or read anything in this series...and it was a cute introduction into it. I really wish Gina and Chris's story were longer though. It's a short read, but it's cute and fun.
ARC provided by NetGalley.
I really needed this story, because I’ve been reading a lot of books with emotionally draining plots and really intense situations. This story is just one of those that are fun to read and leaves you with a smile for a while after you read it.
Gina broke up with her long-term boyfriend a few months ago because she wanted marriage and her now-ex-boyfriend didn’t. Honestly, the guy is like a lazy jerk.
Naturally, Gina is more cautious and doesn’t want to date casually or with men who aren’t looking for a long-term relationship. So when her friend sets her up with Ethan—who’s technically perfect—she jumps at the chance.
But then, love never works out that way does it? So of course there’s Chris, a coworker who is leaving the company for another. He is what Gina’s deemed a “playboy,” since he goes out on date after date and never seems to want a serious relationship.
But the sparks—oh, the sparks. Gina can practically touch the attraction between her and Chris.
This story is classic mind vs. heart. Gina’s heart says go for Chris, while her mind doesn’t want heartbreak and knows that Ethan is the logical choice.
Normally I don’t like stories as short as this one, because it feels like the author rushed the plot or didn’t expand on the characters—in other words, didn’t make them 3D. But this story didn’t have any of that.
There wasn’t much competition and there’s no drama-filled love triangle (I don’t like those), which is a nice change from all of the intense stories I’ve been reading. The story was sweet, didn’t seemed rushed at all—in fact, the pace was perfect—and it had a really sweet ending.
Though this is the second of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone, which is awesome because that means I can re-visit some of these characters in the next books, while not having to read them in order.
I definitely suggest this book to someone who wants the short and sweet type story with nice characters and a good plot.

This book was really great--sweet and funny read. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Gina and Chris. They had sexy banter, and steamy moments that I couldn't stop thinking about. I'm happy to hear that there is another book in the series after this one. If you haven't read a book by Susan Hatler, you're seriously missing out.Was this review helpful? TRUTH OR DATE? This book is great. TRUTH!!!
One of my FAVORITE books by SUSAN HATLER!!! I love the character Gina and her story. You could feel the chemistry between her and Chris as they fall for eachother. The only thing wrong with this book is that it ended! I can't wait to read the next book and see how their story continues. Well done SUSAN!!!

Truth or Date
Better Date than Never series, Book #2
This time round its Gina’s turn, and whilst playing truth or dare with the office hunk Chris, things start to get interesting. Cute and sassy, it’s a feel good book that you can curl up to and forget everything other than blossoming romance. Thankfully it isn’t plain sailing, but that just makes it all the more fascinating to read. The perfect romantic read with characters that will become friends for life.
