    Chords of Renewal

In the TRUTH principle, Leslie Vernick blows away the chaff and reveals the essential kernels of spiritual renewal. She relates true life experiences which touch the soul. She recounts sound methods from her counseling experience. And her personal hunger to grow spiritually is evident in her writing. This book has reached deep into my heart and touched chords of renewal in my own life. As a pastor's wife and speaker, I highly recommend this book as a profound, yet easy-to-understand journey down the path of spiritual growth and renewal.

    Couldnt put it down.....

I devoured this book in 2 nights. The reading is easy but the meaning is deep. I could not put the book down until I was finished. I am reading it a second time to really absorb the practical advice to apply the TRUTH principle to my own life. Leslie uses personal examples from her own life as well as others, about the faulty thinking, negative behavior and idols of our heart that push God to the side while causing us to suffer. This book is a 'must read' for those who yearn to be closer to God and walk in his ways.

    Personal, Straightforward, Honest, Biblical, Helpful

As a book editor I read a lot of material, but few manuscripts engage me as personally and powerfully as The TRUTH Principle has. Leslie's desire to help others live a life of spiritual and emotional maturity is both genuine and practical. The tools she offers are realistic. In my opinion they will, if diligently applied, lead people from all walks of life to personal growth. Change is never easy, and Leslie doesn't attempt to make it so. Nevertheless, her down-to-earth honesty and straightforwardness lends the process rare clarity. I've read the book three times and am far from perfect in applying the principles to my own life! Still, in my own lifelong walk toward maturity, I am more hopeful and believe I have more understanding than I did before reading the book. I highly recommend it.

    The Truth Principle

Leslie Vernick illuminates the pathway to lasting emotional and spiritual growth in The Truth Principle with easily remembered steps I can take throughout the day. The vivid examples from the Bible as well as Leslie's vulnerable personal ones illustrate clearly my need to identify my thoughts and feelings, which motivate my behavior. I have read a number of books regarding growth because I want to grow in my love relationship with Christ. This is one of the best. Leslie's book clearly explains how I need to look truthfully at my desires to see if they are actually idols blocking the relationship I sincerely want. I have already begun practicing the steps I learned from The Truth Principle because I agree with Leslie: It is in learning to handle the little things we encounter in life that we develop what is needed to handle life's bigger problems. I'm looking forward to seeings how following these steps will free me from patterns of weaknesses hindering my growth! I plan to purchase copies of this book for friends and counselors I know!
