Overview

Ella Ingraham almost falls for Josh Devereaux's easy charm and effortless smile. God knows, she wants to. He's made her feel more than anyone has in a long time, both in and out of bed.

But one phone call changes everything. Especially when the truth about Josh is on the other end of that call.

Now Ella isn’t sure which is worse – Josh lying to her about his past, or the fact she can’t stop thinking about him anyway. Not that he’s making it easy.

Josh wants to make things right and he has a plan for stopping her ex's slander campaigns against her before her next big book release. Even Ella has to admit it's a better plan than she -- or her lawyer -- have come up with. For the plan to work, though, Ella has to not only rely on Josh but trust him. Implicitly.

Ella knows she’d be a fool to trust him a second time. So why is her heart trying to convince her otherwise?

To summarize: I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first book, but that's probably partly as I didn't quite feel this book and felt like I wasn't in the right mood for it. The plan for dealing with Ella's ex left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and I didn't like that part. Her ex also seemed to be nasty for no particular reason and I never really got why he decided to try and sue her again, it just didn't make sense. In the end I was satisfied with how that plot line got resolved, although it seemed a bit too easy. The flashbacks were done okay, but I felt like they didn't really add much to the story unlike in the first book. I did enjoy the romance, there's some conflict which I didn't like, but I did feel like it was necessary for them to work through those issues. Josh and Ella make for a good couple and they have some great chemistry. All in all is was a nice sequel and it wraps up the series nicely, but it fell a bit flat for me and I enjoyed the first book more.
