A Robinson Crusoe Story with a Modern Twist

Robin Stewart has used her skill to weave a story of a boy and his grandmother who survived a tsunami and were swept onto an island where they survived for 9 months off the land and with their wits. This book was beautifully written in a simple manner for children using a modern twist to the "Robinson Crusoe" story. If you want to read a beautiful survival story which also winds up being a "coming-of-age" story, you will love this book! It is well written for the age level to which it is directed.

    OK

I finished the book yesterday. Umm... I would highly recommend it to a third grader, but not so much to older children. Some parts are really good, but others seem like they were written for little kids. I mean, I'm a tween, but I'm high above my reading level. Long story short, great story for little kids.
