His is a dangerous job with no end insight, other that more voyages to face the fury of the sea and the enemy.

It is written with a small cast of believable characters that you can easily identify with.

The adventures are well within historical accuracy and a love story anyone should feel good with.

Watch out for family feuds, a murder of one lover's father by the other father.

Meet the Author

Dave Wright the author of Tug of War is a first time writer of a novel.

Born in a West Yorkshire mining village he had a conventional family upbringing. He had a first class basic education followed by 7 years grammar school education in Pontefract.

This was followed by a 35 year career in the technical side of the food industry. These 35 years at the sharp end of the real world have given him a gritty and very realistic outlook of life.

Early retirement in 2010 allows him time to indulge his varied interests. These being reading, walking, railway restoration and now writing. A follow up novel is about to begin.
