This book delivers on its promise because it's based not upon opinion, but upon solid research and testing that's backed up with real-life examples of the exquisitely small differences demonstrated by Olympic gold medal winners and other top performers. In looking at the Men’s Downhill in the 2006 Winter Olympics, for example, Connellan found that the difference between a Gold Medal and no medal was 1.08 seconds or .9%. No matter where he looked, he found pretty much the same thing. The difference between a Gold Medal and no medal averaged a shade under 1%.  In business, Connellan notes that while it's virtually impossible to be 100% better than your competition, it's very possible to be 1% better in 100’s of things.
