Concise view or pivotal moments in military history.

This book is a good jumping off point for people to explore successful martial campaigns and unusual tactics that change the course of fighting and history. Each event encompasses only a few pages, but it helps to explain events very clearly.

I suspect the book is full of errors. I found errors in the article about Kiska in the Aleutians in WWII.

I started reading the book with a good bit of anticipation. The title alone made me want to read the book. Several of the earlier articles were about subjects that I am not greatly familiar with. The writing was such that I went to other sources to get an understanding of the battles and situations. The author seems to leave gaps of information in his explanations. When I got to the article concerning WWII, I was in my element. The author stated that the US Navy lost two carriers at the Battle of the Coral Sea. Even the most elementary of books on the subject list just one carrier lost. He then goes on to say that the US Navy faced the Japanese at Midway with 2 US carriers. That carrier that Cummins sank in the Coral Sea actually participated in the Midway battle.

Granted, these may not be considered large errors, but they are the type of info that any author should be able to get correct with little effort. What concerns me is that I know wonder how many other mistakes are in the book. I have a difficult time enjoying a book when I have to question its accuracy.
