    Novel or short story?

This is either the shortest book I have ever read, or the longest short story. 73 pages. actually it could have been even shorter since the ending was obvious very early on. The main character was whiny and poorly developed. Actually, all of the characters were shallow. As a physician I usually enjoy medical thrillers/mysteries, however this one was not worth the time it took to read it.
