About the Author

Charles S. Ricks, D.D.S., M.P.H., is a graduate of Loma Linda University School of Dentistry and School of Health. He has spent the last four decades serving two distinct areas of healthcare. He was Chief Operating Officer (COO) of a major Los Angeles Medical Center and President/CEO of two other Medical Center in different geographic locations. The author is now retired in The Villages, FL and lectures part-time in one of the education clubs. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives in 1994; is Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology; Fellow of the American College of Dentistry; and Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He has written numerous healthcare articles which have appeared in Modern Healthcare and the Health Governance Report.
