Meet the Author

Esri Allbritten lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband, Angel Joe, and her cat, Musette La Plume. In addition to sushi, bowling and madrigals, she enjoys discovering quirky, real-life towns and wreaking fictional havoc in them.

Esri has one full length mystery published in hardcover and ebook by St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books: Chihuahua of the Baskervilles is the first in her Tripping Magazine mystery series, about a low-budget travel magazine that features destinations of paranormal interest. Unfortunately, every time the staff covers a story, it turns out there's a crime behind the supposedly supernatural events. The second book, The Portrait of Doreene Gray, will be available in hardback and ebook from the same publisher, in July of 2012. All the books in this series feature Chihuahuas, because Esri likes them.

This was a very well written & cute short story aprox 57 pgs. The two main characters were an elderly woman & a loveable Russian male boarder&of course the dog. Anyone who loves small dogs&Merry Christmases should enjoy this. A quick feel good read, with some moments of humor that had me giggling at Ivan& his ways. Recommend to those who don't mind the silly pleasure of doggie clothes& compassionate offbeat characters enjoying simple pleasures.

This book was a humorous, very short story with believable and comical characters. It also provided a touch of mystery that kept you guessing. At the end, I was ready to buy a Chihuahua, but I didn't. If you want to gather the family around the fireplace, this is a good book to read one evening with family members of all ages or give it as a gift to a family. I would enjoy other stories by this author.

Great Christmas story! It's appropriate for everyone in the family and offers a little bit of suspense to boot. What are those footprints outside and what is little Lila barking at?!

This was a jolly read for the holidays! I really enjoyed it and will probably read the other titles by the author. It was a fun story for a chihuahua lover. With all the stress that comes at Christmas, this was a fun escape.

Maybe if I liked Chihuahuas I would have thought this book was fun -- probably not! The characters are weird and I didn't like them. Sorry but I just can't get into a grown person making costumes and dressing up their little "rat dog!" Fine, put an elf costume on the little dog but it will still be ugly & annoying and look like a rat wearing an elf costume. BTW, this is in real life too since I've seen too many people I know do this. Don't encourage people with this strange activity by writing a book. I SOOOOO glad this was a free book, and really short.
