I have listened to this CD at my office everyday Monday through Friday since the day after I received it and I continue to do so. I also met her at Texas Christian University in 2007 and found her to be a very warm and transparent person.

Good Performance of the Vine Sonata, but Disappointing Otherwise

Joyce Yang's performance of the Vine Sonata is fairly impressive, although the recessed and slightly unfocused recorded sound does her no favors. Her performances of the Bach and Liszt works, unfortunately, do not measure up, owing partly to a number of finger slips and partly to incomplete comprehension of the works' own internal logic. If you are interested in the Vine Sonata, look no further than Caroline Hong's performance on Fleur de Son. The Bach and Liszt works are easily available elsewhere.
