Overview

Winnie Perry went through a lot when she was eleven, from shifting friendships to her teenage sister's mood swings. But now that Winnie is twelve-and one step closer to being a teenager herself-there is so much more to deal with. Will her new friendship with Dinah Last? Can she handle the pressures of junior high? And, most important, will Winnie survive bra shopping (in public!) with Mom?

Editorial Reviews

The count-up saga of preteen Winnie Perry continues. When last seen, Winnie was straddling 11; now she's advanced to the much more adult fields of 12. But her new wisdom hasn't exactly relieved her of anxiety. She worries about the resiliency of her new friendship with Dinah and the prospect of surviving junior high; she also frets over shopping for bras with Mom. A compassionate look at a young girl growing up.

This book was absolutely fabulas!!!! i think that every twelve year old girl should read this book. It shows girls that they aren's the only one who goes through embarresing things. I also think that it will bring a girl and her mother closer together. When I read it I had some questions for my mom that we got closer, and I felt like I could ask her amything. So i hope this brings all girls closer to their mothers.

"Twelve", by Lauren Myracle is a good book for any girl looking for a fun read. It has entertainment, romance, some drama, and a whole load of suprises that will make your mouth drop. Winnie Perry just turned twelve and she must deal with friendship issues, jealousy, embarrassment, and "Becoming a woman". I would recomend this book to girls 10 to 14 (but no younger.)

This book is like the bible to growing up!It tells tou the ups and downs of growin up. Nothing was inapropriet, just descriptive! I would recomend this book for girls who have already been through the cycle of maturing or goin into it. Maybe ages...11 to 14.please take my word for it! I have just gone through the cycle and stand by my desicion. For the moms that ar worried to by this book, dont be! They have to find out about this stuff eventually.

OMG!! This is one of my fav books. It's a great book that is never boring. This would be perfect for girls ages 9 and up. It is very funny as Winnie gets her first bra, her period, and first BF!! 'Boy friend.' You will love this book even though some parts are kind of sad. But in the end, it all works out! You will seriously enjoy this book!

This book is one of the most down-to-earth, hilarious, understanding books I have ever read. I read this book when I was twelve and I was so into it. Eleven and Thirteen are also great, but I could relate to this book because of what Winnie goes through. Her giggly personality and her honesty is what makes this book magical. I believe that this is a must read. And now, from reading this book, I will read more of her books. I just love love loved it!!!!! -Nikki

Good conversation starter for girls with pre-puberty angst. Not too sexy but deals with issues kids want to talk about.

Love this book, although you might want to read Eleven first! It's a follow up on Eleven, beginning exactly where she left off in the previous book. Really good book!!!

I loved this book and could not put it down. I read it all in just five days, I was so into it. Every year I read the book of the age I am going to turn on my next birthday. I definetely recommend this book to 11 or 12 year old girls.

This was a really cute book. It is one of my favorites. Some things in the book were totally not for an 11-12 year-old though. I was shocked. I am taking biology this year and we are barely learning about some of the things having to do with the male anatomy that were mentioned in this book. I got a head start on science but I don't think I really needed to learn about that stuff as early as I did. I still like the book but if you are going to read it, check with your parents to see if it would be okay for your age and understanding. If I knew before I got the book what I was getting into I might not have bought it. Now I read all the reviews before I buy or get anything for free so I know if things are meant for my age.

I loved the book!!! But it seems more like something an advanced reader of 10 would read or exactly that, a girl whose twelve..... I'm kinda hiding the book from my little sister until i think she is ready for the book. But if you think your sister or daughter is ready for the story about a girl going through puberty and bras then this is her book!

I think this is a very good book! Maybe some parts are a little inappropriate, so I would say ages 11-14 would enjoy this book. Winnie can relate to many 12 year old girls. She is in many situations that 12 year old girl would go though! I loved this book and would recommend it to many of my friends!

I recently read Twelve, along with Eleven last summer. I absolutely LOVED the book. It's great for any girl that's growing up. The author puts everyday situations into words and makes them hilarious and believeable. I found myself laughing throughout the book. Myracle's writing style is absolutely magnificent. I absolutely love her books. This is a great book for summer reading. I would not recommend putting it in a classroom as it is strictly a "girl's book". But it's great for sharing with friends. I highly recommend you clicking the "add to cart" button for this great book.

This book was very good. I think every girl age 11 through 13 should read these books. They are very funny and make you think about you and your body(in a good way).

This book was probably my personal favorite out of the three in the series. How does Myracle do it? AMAZING! It really relates to young girls who are trying to be perfect, but it tells you that nobody's perfect, and through all of the changes you go through, you're going to make mistakes. So funny, so great! LOVED IT!
