Overview

Jesse Hartwick is a teen celebrity, recently out of the closet, and just beginning to take off as the next big thing in Hollywood. Distanced from his only family, Jesse puts his all into his career, leading a lonely life in the spotlight.

Everything changes one day when he meets Kurt, a cute mysterious stranger who saves him from a mob of fans, beginning a romance that will change things forever, but is Jesse's celebrity status the only thing that Kurt is interested in?

When Lane comes into the picture, it just confuses Jesse more, but he can hardly deny the strong feelings he has for him, especially since he didn't even know that Jesse was a celebrity when he met him, making him all the more appealing.

Shortly after meeting these two men after his heart, Jesse is attacked by a werewolf, then saved from certain death by a vampire, changing him into something altogether new. With his new abilities, he doesn't know who he can trust, let alone how to balance the spotlight with this aspect of himself that he must hide. But in the end, he must decide between the warring factions within: Vampire or werewolf? Kurt or Lane?

With it's main character caught in a love triangle with a vampire and a werewolf, this novel may seem at first to be little more than a "gay Twilight." But, while fans of that popular series would be sure to enjoy this book, Twice Bitten stands on it's own as a first-rate paranormal romance. Not only is Jesse Hartwick a popular teen celebrity who must deal with the pressures of being an openly gay man in the public eye, he must also deal with the fact that he has become a whole new kind of Creature of the Night. Bitten by both a vampire AND a werewolf, Jesse has become something completely new. The author has a lot of fun with this unique premise, and the love triangle between Jesse, the vampire Kurt, and the werewolf Lane is compelling and well written. It all leads up to a surprising conclusion I didn't see coming but in retrospect was inevitable, a perfect ending to the story of these characters. Of course, I'm hoping for a sequel. DO NOT PASS UP TWICE BITTEN. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!!

I wasn't looking too much at the writing because I didn't have such high expectations. The storyline was interesting and, if you liked Twilight or anything where there are vampires and werewolves, then you may like this book. It was a quick read/finished it in a day. There were times of the book that you expected and some where you would be like, "Wait, isn't it because of this that he should be..." I don't want to spoil anything, but overall I believe this book is a good read.

This indie title is far from ready for audiences. There are grammatical errors and story inconsistencies. The characters are uninspired and one-dimensional and they fall in love with each other only hours after meeting. Dialog is contrived and pandering. Basically, everything here is greatly in need of revising and editing. I applaud Mr. Ferraro's efforts, but there's still a lot of work to be done here.
