Kirkus Reviews
It's hard enough being the girlfriend of The Prince of Darkness, an emotionally distant vampire who is the inspiration for humanity's greatest nightmare; but when Vlad Tepesh's enemies try to get to him by coming after Leila, they may all have some shocking surprises in store. After settling in Romania with her vampire prince, Leila begins to wonder if she will ever be satisfied with Vlad's detached nature, despite their explosive sexual chemistry. When she misinterprets an anticipated public event as a prelude to a marriage proposal, he reminds her in no uncertain terms that his heart is not up for possession. Realizing she can never be truly happy in the inadequate relationship, Leila leaves. Returning to the circus community she formerly called home, Leila barely survives a firebomb that kills her best friend. She and her escort, Maximus, who carries a torch for her, decamp, trying to figure out who wants her dead. As they attempt to stay out of reach of her all-powerful ex, the two are abducted by henchmen of an unknown enemy. Leila, who possesses supernatural powers--including the ability to generate deadly electrical currents and read people's minds--gains their freedom but is unable to bring them to safety. She psychically reaches out to Vlad, who rescues them and takes her back to his Romanian castle, where a number of surprising secrets are waiting for her. Having nearly lost her, Vlad reconsiders his position on love, but the path is not yet smooth for the lovers, nor is it safe. Whoever is out to get them has inside help from someone in Vlad's closest, most trusted circle. This book is the second in Frost's Night Prince trilogy, a taut, intriguing paranormal romantic suspense that keeps the pages turning from the very first paragraph. Vlad is an intense, sexy alpha male, and Leila's a smart, unique heroine who can hold her own in a firefight (literally) while demanding an authentic relationship from a man most people flee from in fear. An action-packed, emotionally charged paranormal romance with dramatic, satisfying characters and an engaging, fast-paced plot.

I read this in one sitting.  I could not put it down.  This is what a vampire romance should be.
Vlad told Leila that he could give her everything but love and that’s the only thing she wants from him so she is heading home to Marty and the carnival troupe.  Except someone wants her dead and now Leila needs to figure out who to trust and how to stay alive.
I can’t begin to say how very much I enjoyed this book.  Taking on Dracula is a challenge and Ms. Frost does him justice.

    Great characters!

I love Ms. Frost's work because her female leads are not overly emotional. They act a lot like I would if put into a similar situation and that makes the book "relatable." Overall, it is a great book! Storyline is fluid and the dialog does not feel forced. If you haven't read the first book yet, you may want to pick it up.

    Awesome story again!

This night prince series is great again. Loved the Cat and Bones storyline, so reading more about Tepesh/Vlad has been so insightful. Frost always leaves us at the end waiting for more...not sure I like the waiting. It would have been great to have the full story of Vlad in a package or longer book. Starting to feel like authors are using gimicks like this to just get more $$ out of us. Might recommend waiting to read this series until all content for the storline is available.

    Dawne

I'm on page 183 of 287 and as of this point, it's all sniveling. "I can't marry you cause you don't love me" snivle, snivle. "I'm leaving cause you don't love me and won't give me a toilet" snivle, snivle. "Oh now you love me so let's get married" gag gag me. 183 pages of a sniveling twit. Really it's 2013, hopefully women out their don't really act that way. Maybe in the 1800's. Really people, you know how it goes and it's just not realistic. And to think some call it great romance. Hmmmmmm

    Awesome

I loved this second installment of the series. It was especially nice to see Vlad come so far relationship wise. It did hate that the book ended rather quickly, but it just makes me more anxious for the next one.

Kinda disappointed. I was very excited about this book after having read
Once Burned. Along with The Night Huntress series (so far). This book
seemed to really dwell on past history between Leila and Vlad. Most of
the book seemed to be just filler. Not what I had expected from Jeaniene Frost.
I plan to read the next book in this series, but hope it much better, without so
much filler. (by filler I mean nothing happening just constant history about
    a character over and over).

    Loik

This is a good series. Leila was a little whinier in this one than the first book but she bounced back into her tough attitude at the end. Thank god. Whiny female heroines make me gag.

    I hate this stupid book

I barely even finished this piece of garbage. How does it even have ANY good reviews?! All the main character does, who's speaking in the first person, is COMPLAIN. Whah whah whah. Shut up! Ill never read another spin off by Janneine Frost. The Cat and Bones series starts off great, but this is SAD. I swear she paid some horny 5th grader to write it for her so shed get paid, but not have to do the work!!

    Review From My Urban Fantasies

Review originally posted on My Urban Fantasies.
    (myurbanfantasies.blogspot)

Vlad is back! It's been a couple of months since Once Burned. Leila is still living with Vlad. Unfortunately for Leila not much else has changed. Vlad still refuses to admit he loves Leila. Leila is worried about her powers coming back, but that pales in comparison to her worries about Vlad. Her heart can no longer handle Vlad's cold and distant behavior. The time has come for Leila to make a choice. Stay with Vlad who refuses to admit he loves her or spend the rest of her life without the man she loves most. Twice Tempted is fast-paced, action packed and an emotional roller coaster.

The first 22 chapters show Vlad's other persona. Not the relaxed Vlad from the Night Huntress series. We see Vlad the ruler, who is a constant arrogant jackass. Although it's not my favorite side of Vlad, it was nice to see how he's forced to act around other vampires and his people.

I feel a little sorry for Leila in this book. It takes her so long to realize the Vlad has to act a certain way when other people are around and that her actions are a direct reflection upon him. It completely sucks, but hey living in a castle comes with a particular set of rules. I love the compromise she found. Leila manages to keep who she is without compromising the safety that Vlad spent his entire undead life working for.

I can't wait for the next book in this stellar series. As always, I will be impatiently waiting.
