Overview

New York Times and USA TODAY Bestselling author of Science Fiction, Urban Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance brings another action, adventure, and suspense-filled story to transport readers out of this world.

Melina Franklin was barely sixteen when she and her grandfather were kidnapped from their small farm in Georgia by an alien trader and sold to an Antrox mining asteroid in deep space. Mistaken for a young boy, she lives in fear of being found out and sold. Her only companionship for the next four years is her grandfather and the Pactors, the large creatures used for hauling the mining ore, that she takes care of. She dreams of the day when she and her grandfather will somehow escape and return home to the rolling green hills of their farm.

Calo and Cree Aryeh have been secured as the personal guards for Creon Reykill's mate, Carmen Walker. The twin brothers are a rare species of dragon known for their fierceness in battle. Born to the mystic dragon clan of the Northern Mountains, they have given their allegiance to the Dragon Lords vowing to serve and protect the royal family and their new true mates. The brothers know they will never be able to have a true mate of their own. Never in the history of their clan have twin dragons been able to find a mate capable of handling two male dragons. They can only hope that they die in battle so they are not destined to be caged when the loneliness eventually drives their dragons insane.

The twin dragons are confused when two humans are discovered on an abandoned asteroid mine. The old man and his grandson appear normal enough, but their dragons and their symbiots are driving them crazy, insisting the boy is their true mate. Neither knows how to handle the other two parts of themselves or their need to remain close to the boy. On top of that, the young human male refuses to have anything to do with either of them. He hides and avoids them every time they get near him.

Things become clearer when they discover Mel is really Melina. Unfortunately, finding out their true mate is really a woman does little to change her feelings toward them. She is even more determined to return to her world.

When her wish comes true, the brothers know they have no choice but to kidnap her and hide her away. Can they convince her to give them a chance at happiness or will she seek protection from the royal family they have vowed to serve? If that is not bad enough, there is another who has his eye on their mate and will do whatever is necessary to keep her – including killing the twin dragons who have claimed her first.

It is very rare for Twin Dragons to be gifted with a mate, so Cree and Calo are on the verge of giving up hope that they will ever find theirs. The one woman who will help them keep control over their dragons. Currently in hiding, Melina is a very strong woman who has suffered through much in her young life. When she meets Calo and Cree, passions quickly escalate. It's not long until they realize just how much they  fill the holes in each other's lives.  This was a wonderful story that is filled with laughter, understanding, and love. Definitely a good read!

I loved this book. This whole series and sub-series are great!

Loved the storyline about the twin dragons and their desperate search for a mate and wish to escape madness. I also enjoyed Melina's back story. I read Ella and The Beast and loved it so much I am reading a few of SE Smith's other series. Every book I have read and listened to so far has been an amazing read. Love this series.

This is one of my favorite series, but I had to force myself to finish this ine. It's more about my taste in characters than anything though. It was a good book, and I am sure a lot of people would like it, but Melina really got on my nerves. I liked her for about two paragraphs towards the end when she finally stood up to fight. I swear if she shivered and ran away from something one more time I was calling it quits.

Oh man, this one hit me right in the feels. I felt so bad for the Twins! Even reading the entire series so far and knowing they would get the girl, their struggle was heartbreaking. I really enjoyed this one and could not put it down! Second favorite to Capturing Cara because that one made me laugh out loud so often! I'll admit, this was the book that originally caught my attention because of the hot cover, but I can't read a series out of order. Smith reeled me in, hook line and sinker. Well played, Smith, well played. I'm a huge sucker for dragons and sci fi. I absolutely love her concept and her world that she created... and all the sex is pretty great too ;) I only 4 star because Smith really needs a better editor. The grammar mistakes and misspelled words throughout the entire series just kills me... (total grammar police, can't help it...)

This story was fantastic. Smith had me crying one moment and rolling on the floor laughing with the turn of a page. The writing was vibrant and fun, while also eloquent and easy to follow. The plot has it all: love, loss, danger, adventure, and enough chemistry to make your pages sizzle. This is all set in a well-developed world that I don’t simply enjoy reading about, but that I’m dying to move to. I simply couldn’t imagine being a Valdier twin. I couldn’t picture living assuming that I had a death sentence over my head simply for being born. And then to find out that your only possible salvation is something that you can’t quite wrap your mind around? Fate was definitely playing with Cree and Calo here. And Aikaterina’s admission that she may have overlooked something? Yeah, that made her an even better goddess in my books. Top this all of with Mel’s winning personality and her internal struggle between what she feels she should do and what she needs for herself and you have a cast of characters you simply won’t be able to get enough of. Smith has once again created a completely unforgettable tale. It is a must read for anyone who enjoys shifters, SciFi, or just some good old romance.

i liked that the main girl put them through the ringer, it was around 258 pages but it certainly felt longer filled with action but maybe took a bit to start it up. the end could have been a bit more climatic.

All I can say about this book is that I Loved Loved Loved it. I was worried that the story would not stand on its own without reading any of the rest of this series but I was assured by several folks that I could read it as a stand alone. So with this in mind I dived into this book.. 8 hours later (at 6am in the morning) I finally finished this book and was disappointed that it ended. I laughed my way through this book between her tricking all the bad soldiers that couldn't find her, and throwing "poo" at her would be dragon lovers to keep them at bay. And loved the confusion of the dragon twins when they thought their soul mate was a boy... and they were like.. but but.. we aren't into guys!!! This is an absolute must read and you will find you can't put the book down any more than I was able to. Loves to S.E. Smith for an awesome book and I look forward to reading the rest of the series!!

There was some editing errors in the book and this is more of a emotional book then the others ( not as much adventure in this book ). So while I liked it its not as good as the others.

Loved, loved, loved. This book will touch your heart. Milena's story is heartbreaking but will end with an HEA. The twins are wonderful and their dragon's can be humorous. Lots of action and romance too.
