Twin Souls: Finding Your True Spiritual Partner

Overview

The idea that none of us is truly alone, that everyone has a complementary other of the opposite sex, has been a prevailing belief throughout the ages. From Plato's story of the Hermaphrodite who was split in two, eternally fated to search ceaselessly for it's other half, to Schopenhauer's theories of soul attraction, the notion of twin souls has always been central in any metaphysical speculation on the evolution of humankind.

In their landmark new book on the subject of twin soulship, authors Patricia Joudry an Maurie Pressman have given the idea fresh impetus within a modern context. Their intelligent and in-depth exploration of the evolution of the soul and their discussion of gender balance, central to the theory, makes for compelling reading. It is an idea whose time has come at last.

This extraordinary ontological event occurs when the two matching individual have evolved to particular levels of spiritual attainment. For the many individuals who have experienced disappointment in love and despair of ever finding happiness in relationship, here is a model to which we all can aspire.

The authors offer fascinating case studies of present-day couples who demonstrate all the essential characteristics of twin-soul pairings, along with examples from history-such as poets Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning, and scientist Pierre and Marie Curie.

Keynote chapters include discussion on sacred sexuality, how to recognize the twin, and the dangers of spiritual delusion.

In these dark times of gender confusion and discontent, this book is timely and important. It's message is not only uniquely exciting, but supremely comforting and inspiring, leaving readers with a profound sense of hope.

Read an Excerpt

For millennia, poets, philosophers, mystics, and lovers have told us of the perfect union, the coming together of two sundered souls to form the lost whole. Yet for most of us, such a perfect pairing remains a dream. Steeped in the lore of the ages, this inspiring book suggests that each of us does indeed have a true spiritual partner in the world and that, through spiritual discipline, we can find and unite with this "twin soul."

The authors tell us how to prepare for this meeting, how to find and recognize our twin soul, and how to overcome the obstacles and conflicts that stand in the way of the love that completes us-and that ultimately leads us back to the creative source of all souls.
