Part of the "Wild Tales" series, this is a story about Bobby and Bella, twin cubs, who go to the river to wait for the arrival of their cousins and Uncle Billy. The mother bear warns her cubs to keep out of the river because they cannot swim well enough yet. As the twins wait for their relatives, they play and wrestle. Unfortunately, Bobby takes a tumble into the river and struggles to swim. Luckily, Uncle Billy and the cousins arrive at the river and they dive in to save Bobby. The illustrations are simple with photographs of bears in colorful drawings of the scenes. Younger children may enjoy the simple story plot and pictures in a read aloud setting. Adults will find some helpful ideas at the back of the book to support children with comprehension of the story. The other books in this series feature simple story lines and animals snapshots with illustrated backgrounds.
