What time is it when the twins put on their pj's, brush their teeth, and read stories? Bedtime!
School Library JournalPreS-Gr 1-Weiss writes about themes that children can relate to-bedtime and having a battle over a balloon. With very short rhyming sentences and basic vocabulary, the books are suitable for beginning readers. Children will empathize with the tired siblings as they get ready for bed ("Now we are cranky./We need our blankie!") and will relate to the trauma of an argument as one twin says, "I got it first," and the other replies, "You are the worst!" Colorful illustrations provide helpful visual clues. Libraries that need to build up their ready-to-read collections would do well to purchase these simple titles.-Anne Knickerbocker, formerly at Cedar Brook Elementary School, Houston, TX Copyright 2004 Reed Business Information.
