Editorial Reviews

Ann Douglas
Twinspiration is the ultimate go-to guide for the mom-to-be with two or more babies on the way. Part pregnancy guide, part heart-to-heart conversation with another mother of twins who's made this exciting journey, this book deserves a place of honor in the mountain of twin pregnancy books accumulating on your bedside table.

Lage’s writing style is very friendly and personal. While reading this book, you will feel as though you are getting advice from a friend. Lage does not preach about having twins. Rather, Lage opens her own life to her readers, sharing all sorts of personal stories about her own pregnancy and experience with her twins. [Additionally] there are little sections called “Double Daddy Perspectives” that talks directly to the future fathers. An invaluable source of advice!
Dr. Lora Christian
The writing is beautifully done and the information---excellent. I wish such a resource had been available when my [twin] girls were born. A book such as Twinspiration is needed out there for the common sense approach to raising twins---I would buy it and recommend it to future twin parent patients
J. Robbins
As a new parent of twins, I could not read this book fast enough - flipping pages while nursing, and even sacrificing much needed sleep to read the informative chapters. Lage writes from the heart, making you feel like she is with you through your own twin trials and tribulations. It is so refreshing to read the true-to-life account of her experiences in the early days - the good, the bad, and the ugly. She shares the mistakes and triumphs of motherhood with twins with honesty and a level head.
Katherine Coates, ED.D.
Packed with advice, personal experiences and humor (often at the author's expense), Twinspiration should be in the anxious hands of every doubly-blessed parent. In fact, any couple anticipating parenthood would benefit from Cheryl Lage's thoughts under the heading "Prenatal Agreements." You will be emotionally richer for reading this wise and witty book.

I haven't read this book myself, but when shopping for my best friend and cousin, both of whom were expecting twins, I checked out the reviews for this book - which were positive. I then went to the bookstore to see it in person, and it seemed to be well organized and easy to read. My friend and cousin both said it was the most helpful book that they read during their pregnancies with twins. They both said it was quick and easy to get through, and spent a lot of time on the second half of pregnancy as well as early days with baby - which was very helpful to them! I would buy it again if I know anyone else having twins!

Ok ladies. I'll admit it. I am a huge fan of TLC's John and Kate Plus 8. The idea of navigating a word with twins, let alone sextuplets, hold great mystery and intrigue for me. Diapers. Feedings. Cleaning the toilet. Laundry. I am barely able to manage my tiny brood of two girls who are four years apart in age. How do these courageous families adapt? Do they sleep? Do they shower? Do they ever have a moment to grab a latte and read a book? Ugh. And so, with great anticipation I read Cheryl Lage's new book, Twinspiration. Cheryl draws on her own experience with her set of twins to provide a very real worldview of raising twins. Bonus, she also gives great advice on everything from breastfeeding to involving Daddy in the routine. Cheryl found that when she looked to the Barnes and Noble family/children rack that there were virtually no books on twins that really gave the nitty-gritty. This book is concise and well written. The chapters are setup in the same way that your college textbook outlined the complete history of Europe. Information is easy to find. It is like have the super encyclopedia of twins at your fingertips but with more humor and pizazz. Finances. Swing sets. Pediatricians. Air travel. Persona Hygiene (yours, not the babies). All covered. And what a relief, you will find that Cheryl is abhorrent to the "mommy police". All the information is present with compassion and understand. She's been there, done that, and has made the same mistakes that all leave us wondering, "What was I thinking?". This is a must have gift for a parents who have just found out that they are having multiples. And really, don't you thing that the ultrasound technician should give this book to families who have just "seen" their twins for the first time? Sounds like a good idea to me.

Twinspiration is must have for parents of twins and multiples, end of story. Cheryl's refreshingly candid voice and calm approach to dealing with pregnancy and the first year with twins, not to mention breastfeeding, the 'days of haze' (AKA first few weeks at home), maneuvering, finances....and air travel(?!) make her not only a reliable source for great twins info, but an oasis of calm amidst a potentially stressful time in a new twins-mom's life. The father's running point of view throughout the book is a nice feature as well. I feel totally ready for twins after reading this! Cheryl Lage's fantastic website twinsights.com is also a helpful resource and community for parents of twins and multiples.
