This is a beautiful story. It does start out slow, and honestly, remains somewhat slow throughout. But the slow pacing fits the story, since it's mostly about the characters and their thoughts. They come to life on the page, slowly, but surely, and I really connected with the main female character. There's not a lot of action, per se, but the story doesn't really need it. I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. I perhaps wanted more, but then maybe it's ok the way it is. Or maybe it's a good setup for a sequel. If you're the type of person that doesn't mind a story that moves like a slow gentle river, then you'll like this. I could compare it to an old movie in the way it goes--not like the ADD action flicks that consume the cinema today.

I found this book to be a nice change of pace from my usual readings. It's a short book, reads quickly, and only has a handful of characters. It's simple and elegant and gives a good close-up view of the human condition through the eyes of a couple twenty-somethings. There may be a couple cliches here and there, but nothing to take away from the enjoyment.

LOVE this book! And the younger sister Laeli is so cute...she reminds me of my sister when we were younger. I really hope this author will write more because there's a level of depth in here I just don't find often. I don't want to give away too much, but Robyn really is magical in her strength in handling things and being a role model for her sister. The power of this book is in the relationships. Definitely read this.

I enjoyed reading this book. It's not very long, but many of my favorite books are on the shorter side. I respect an author that can say a lot without actually saying a lot. This book does that very well. The narrator annoyed me at times, but I loved Robyn...and her sister. It's very touching. Oh, and it's free! That's always a plus.
