Overview

When Two Knotty Boys, Dan and J. D., began teaching rope bondage together in 1999, they discovered that most people learn best when they're shown — close up, step by step, and repeatedly — how to tie basic knots and combine them into bondage techniques. It is this learning process that they duplicate in this book. With the help of world-renowned photographer Larry Utley, they use over 750 photos and captions to explicate the soup-to-nuts techniques for turning great knots into great bondage that is safe, sensual, attractive, and effective. Readers can learn at their own pace, review whole techniques at a single glance, or even lay it flat on the table (beside their blindfolded partner) and follow along as they tie. Two Knotty Boys Showing You the Ropes appeals to those interested in improving the quality of their sex lives, not to mention aficionados of bondage and discipline/sadomasochism (BDSM), both curious newcomers and serious players alike.

Meet the Author

Two Knotty Boys, Dan and JD, combine a quarter century of rope bondage experience, including tying models for world-renown fetish photographers. Rope bondage blossomed naturally from JD's former work as an industrial rigger and Dan's hobby as a climbing instructor. Meeting in 1999, as both tied applicants for a bondage-modeling contest, Dan and JD noticed their similarity of bondage styles and philosophy — and they soon teamed up as the Two Knotty Boys. Ever since, they've been performing live shows, rigging photo shoots and teaching bondage to packed workshops nationwide. Dan's years of performing stand-up comedy and JD's extensive knowledge of human physiology add to their uniquely enjoyable and informative teaching style.

    Very Useful, great for beginners

I enjoy it very much, it's good for partners, and some of the ties can even be converted to self tying. It's not pornographic, and it's very artistic. Great for riggers of all stages.

    I Also Recommend:

This is a true "101: rope bondage for beginners" book.

This is a true "101: rope bondage for beginners" book. I have been in he lifestyle for a while as well as dealing with ropes/knots for most of my life for various hobbies. This is the book I have already recommended to anyone that wants a starter guide, even if they just have a simple curiosity. The writing is easy to follow and has some nice humor sprinkled in. The large amount of photos keeps it very basic for the novice to easily learn. Authors show you the basics from what a square knot is and how to tie it (a basic knot that everyone who picks up a rope should know) to what kind of rope can be used and on to basic rope designs to be used by everyone regardless of gender or sexual orientation. This book does not discriminate on any level but gives education and even helps to show you where to get materials and where you might want to go next after this book. There are other books out there that are good but only if you have a basic understanding, which this book provides. I added this book to my educational shelf as it even has great designs for anyone outside of the novice. Read this first before you start anywhere else or even before you buy your rope.
