Overview

Forget the grass skirts. Some of the Island's top hula dancers are pushing up daisies.
Everyone at Em Johnson's famous North Shore Kauai hang-out, The Tiki Goddess Bar, knows that the bar's irrepressible Hula Maidens take their hula dancing seriously. So when famed hula instructors from a rival dance troop start dropping like over-ripe passion fruit, Em and the Hula Maidens go undercover at the Kukui Nut Festival Hula Competition to uncover the killer. Em is once again up to her okole in danger and mystery, not to mention the seductive challenge of working with hunky detective Roland Sharpe, who moonlights as one of the island's sexiest fire dancers.
The hula is lively, the luau is smoking, the mai tais are delicious, and a killer is looking to get away with murder in paradise.

I'm probably not the target audience for this book, I'm a middle age male, but I loved it ! My wife tells me it sounds like an Evonovish book. My only complaint is that it's too short! I bought this book after reading the first Goddess Mystery. These books are a bit short for my tastes but still worth it to me. I bought it because of the Hawaii theme, to read while I was in Hawaii, but ended up reading the second one at home. The plot is great, the characters fun and charming, I love her writing style. There were two errors in the book, one factual, the other in continuity, but I still gave it five stars just because it's such an enjoyable read. Cant wait for Three to Get Lei'd !

I enjoyed this story just as much as the first, if not a little more. If youve never lived in Hawai'i or studied the culture, have google ready for a few terms. It helps to know the language however they give u the meaning to most of the words within the story. Keep an eye on those Hula Maidens as they get crazier in this book, if u can believe it. Definitely pick up these two stories, and help Em, Sophie, and the Hula Maidens solve another mystery. Aloha

Good summer read. Take to the beach or the mountains, easy to keep up with but not so much that you can't put it down to do something exciting while on vacation.

This book was entertaining. The characters were quirky. It was a very fast read. A very light read and just perfect for a summer afternoon or rainy day. It keeps you smiling. I would definitely read other books by this author.

A fun read but I had read the first one immediately before the second and saw many editing errors, I.e. a character was crocheting on one page and a few pages later put her knitting down plus the name of an antagonist changed from the first book to the second. The name issue really bothered me, the crocheting/knitting error just made me think it was sloppy editing but I could get passed that.

Entertaining read! Clever, fun mystery with quirky characters we get to know and love. Will appeal to mystery readers of all ages. No worries about bad language or indecent scenes. Overall has everything you'd enjoy in a good book: well written, interesting plot, characters you like. I have recommended it to friends and can't wait to read number 3.

4 STARS Two to Mango is a funny story, cozy mystery. Most of the characters are over the top. If you like your murder mystery on the funny side then read this series. I have read all three of them now and could not put the books down. Had to know what crazy things the Hula Maidens were up to now. The Hula Maidens are a group of senior citizens who dance hulu. Not very well youngest 62 to 90. They have big personalities, they dance for free at the Tiki Goddess bar. Em is now managing the Tiki Goddess Bar to help her Uncle Louie save the bar. She has not been on North shore for two long. the Hula Maidens sent her a plain ticket and said her uncle was losing his mind. Em just got through a divorce. She flirts with Roland. Roland is a murder detective and on the side dances with fire swords. He is suspicious of two deaths in the same hula group. No evidence just a hunch. He asks Em to get the Hulu Maidens register for a completion and go and listen around see if she over hears anything. Their is one scene right before the Hulu Maidens go on to perform when Em accuses someone of poisoning another person and she starts to run so Em gets in a fight soon the Maidens join in and a group from Japan are all fighting on stage. I was laughing so hard in that scene. I hope their is plenty more books with Em and the Hula Maidens. This was a clean read.
