The Two Vanrevelsby Booth Tarkington
Alongside William Faulkner and John Updike, Booth Tarkington is one of just three authors to win the Pulitzer Prize more than once. Tarkington accomplished the feat with Alice Adams and The Magnificent Ambersons, dramas that explored the lives of fictional characters who live in a setting similar to the one Tarkington experienced in Indianapolis. Tarkington continues to garner praise for his works' historical realism.

Wonderful old-fashioned romance involving the classic elements of "star-crossed" lovers and mistaken identity, with a twist at the end which, although heavily foreshadowed and unsurprising, is nonetheless moving. Plenty of scanning errors in this copy, particularly where the author makes use of song lyrics, but nothing that can't easily be gotten past... especially since we live in a world where song lyrics can simply be looked up on the internet.
