Jake and Annabelle were high school sweethearts until a business opportunity came up and Jake left without a goodbye. Now years later he's back in town and runs into her again. The chemistry is still there but will Annabelle have forgiven him or will she be out for revenge?
Great story! For being a short, all the points of the story were covered and the characters were well developed.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very short, quick read. The writing was fun--it had quite a few lines that made me laugh. For example:
She'd lost him with the word seduce. Flashes of her sweet lips covering his and her body pressed against him.
"Jake?" She snapped her fingers.
"Sorry. I'm listening," he promised. "You don't want to seduce me." This made him sad, because now all he could think about was seducing her.
Poor, poor Jake.
It's a lovers-with-a-past story, which a short novella really needs in order to make a HEA ending reasonably believable. The beginning is very strong--Jake's back in town, years after having dumped Annabelle, his high school sweetheart. Things have changed for both of them, naturally, and they're both successful in their chosen careers. Annabelle's on a blind-date-from-hell with "Darrell McFondler" and ends up ditching him in order to help Jake, who happens to be at the same restaurant, wine and dine some prospective business contacts. Excellent start.
About two thirds of the way through, though, things start to feel really rushed. We get to our HEA, but it almost felt as if we skipped a couple of steps along the way. I'd really liked to have seen the last part of the story expanded into greater detail, making their reunion feel more realistic.
Still, this is an entertaining story with sympathetic characters that can be read in a single setting. I'd check out more from these authors in the future.

The girl he left behind is the girl that can make or break his next big project. Ten years have not altered how he feels about her.
Jake is in trouble here.
Annabelle has not forgotten how he left her. Not the best exit ever! When she sees him again, she knows she is still in love with him...even after 10 years.
This is a delightful short story. Fun reading all the bantering and the final outcome!

Great Novella. The characters, Jake and Annabelle, are perfect together and make this story worth reading. I do wish it had been a full length, as I would have liked to get just a little bit more of their story, but still very enjoyable! Tycoon Reunion by Candace Havens and Shannon Leigh was a fun, short, flirty read. Annabelle Darlington and Jake Michaels were high school sweethearts but he dumped her when high school graduation came along. Jake went on to become a very successful business “tycoon”. Annabelle is out on a date, a not very successful date, when she bumps into Jake. He ends up rescuing her from her date and in exchange he asks her for a favor.
Annabelle and Jake were a cute couple. They had instant chemistry and witty conversations. When they re-connect Jake realizes that he still has lingering feelings for Annabelle and tries to win her back. Annabelle is also “back in love” with Jake but realizes that he, once again, has the power to hurt her. For his credit, Jake tries very hard to win her back and prove to her that he is worth a second chance. The reality of the situation is that they were both too young to put their lives on hold as teenagers. Both needed to grow up and figure out who they were.
Because this is a short read not too much happens other than them reconnecting and getting to know each other but the length doesn’t stop this story from being enjoyable and fun. I found Annabelle to be more than what appeared. Although she came off as flirty and at time flighty, she was a successful historical architect. Ironically Jake is in town to demolish a building that she is trying to preserve. The rivalry added to the tension that was already there. I liked that Annabelle was a strong and competent women. She was also very straightforward about how Jake her in the past. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a fun couple with just the right amount of tension. Short and fun!

This was a cute and fun read, but the story jumped around a little bit for taste. There were a few things that just jumped up out of nowhere without a lot of explanation. I loved the premise of the developer going up against the historical preservationist aspect though. It led to a lot of interesting "discussions" and was a great conflict to underscore the relationship.

I wasn't sure about this one when I received it from Entangled in exchange for an honest review. I'm normally not a novella type of reader because I always want to know more. I gave it a chance because I had previously read Candace's Last Best Fling, and Take It Like A Vamp. I loved both of those books so I figured why not.
I loved loved loved Tycoon Reunion. The only way I could have loved it more is if it had been full length. A full length novel that encompasses their relationship as friends when they were kids, to when they broke up, and then their reunion would be my dream but I'm trying to enjoy the gift that this novella was.
Annabelle had her heart broken. She was stranded by her first love on graduation night. All their plans and dream shattered by one stupid mistake.
Jake was an 18 year old idiot. He wanted to be successful. Not just for himself, but for Annabelle. She made him strive to be a better person. When a golden opportunity struck he moved quickly thinking he would come back for Annabelle later and explain. He figured they had time, they were only 18.
Ten years later they are reunited in a restaurant. Hilarity ensues. I have to say that I LOVED Annabelle's game in the restaurant. She saw her moment for payback and she took it and ran with it. I laughed throughout the whole thing. This will be one of those novellas I'll actually read again when I have a little time and need a good laugh!

Last year Entangled put out an anthology called Date By Mistake. All the stories center around Port Calypso. One of the stories was called Tycoon Reunion. In this story, we have two people who were in love when they were younger. However, Jake Michaels decided it would be best if left his hometown to pursue his career. Plus, he did it in a jerk kind of way and never told Annabelle Darlington he was leaving. Now life has thrown these two crazy kids back together. I thought it was a sweet story. Overall I thought the story was really sweet second chance love story. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Jake Michaels is rich, successful and restless. Years ago he made a mistake. He left his true love without a word. When he sees Annabelle Darlington, he loses his heart again. The lady is wary and determined to hold her own. Can he convince her to take a chance again? This novella by Candace Havens is fast paced and flirty. Annabelle and Jake are dynamite together. Their reunion is sensual and emotional. It amazed me how quickly I was drawn into their lives. Candace Havens did a wonderful job with this short story. Was this review helpful?
