is designed to provide information on the physical and socioeconomic underpinnings of the disease, as well as causes and complications based on case histories. It includes suggestions to avoid or delay the onset of the disease, and to minimize complications for those already afflicted.
About the Author
Andrew Kagan, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a retired general/vascular surgeon who practiced and taught at the Hackensack University Medical Center, a major teaching facility at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has provided material for surgical texts, published in medical literature, and holds a patent for a blood-flow monitor. He currently is the in-house volunteer surgeon at the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative in New Jersey.
