This book could change your life!

This book presents a palatable alternative to the never ending spiral of increasing doses of oral hypoglycemic agents and subsequent weight gain. The authors have done an excellent job of summarizing the basic theory behind why this diet works, and provide an easy to follow meal plan for the first two weeks along with all the information you need to stay on track afterwards. After four years of steadily increasing doses of glyburide (Dia-Beta)I followed this regimen and was able to taper off of my medication after 6 weeks. I have been medicine-free for 5 months, have been able to maintain tight blood glucose control and have an excellent cholesterol profile. This book made what seemed to be an insurmountable task a pleasurable exercise in taking control of my life. I recommended it to a friend who has realized the same success that I did. While this book will never get the press and publicity that the Atkins diet does, to me the program is much more sensible, easier to follow, and has the power to change your life for the better.
