Part of a series of oversized board books about dinosaurs, this one takes a look at Tyrannosaurus Rex. This very large predator is always hungry, so other dinosaurs needed to be on the alert. Tyrannosaurus Rex had massive sharp teeth as large as a table knife and very strong jaws. His legs were strong and he was only too happy to make a meal of the plant eating Triceratops. Beware to any other carnivorous dinosaur who tried to horn in on Tyrannosaurus Rex's meal. The pictures included in the book are photographs of models and they offer interesting views of the flora and fauna, especially the texture and color of the dinosaurs' skin. Professor Michael J. Benton served as a consultant for the series. 2000, DK Publishing, Ages 2 to 5, $6.95. Reviewer: Marilyn Courtot
