"...Mudflat series is a supernatural comic romp full of non-stop action, fantastic characters and a hero you’ll love..." 4.5 rating, RT Book Reviews

At the corner of Seattle and Otherworld, magic meets mayhem.

When a conman wants you as the patsy for a crime, you run, right? That’s what Claire decides. She makes it out of Seattle and into the arms of an Otherworld barbarian. Not much improvement there. One aims a gun, the other swings a broadsword. The barbarian’s world is filled with so much terror, it makes the conman and his threats look easy. This first novel of the Mudflat Magic series won the Eppie for Best Fantasy of the Year.

Fast-paced story that offered a great escape from reality! Loved the voice of the heroine. If you want an entertaining book that will make you bite your nails while reading one page and giggle out loud while on another, this book is for you. The next in the series has already been added to my TBR stack.

and finds the drop harder than Alice's adventure. These people don't even know about coffee or aspirin. Fast-paced adventure. Nice to get a chance for a free introduction to a lively series.

I was very pleased with how this author transitioned our main character into a whole new realm. Everything came to life so vividly as Claire struggled to stay alive. Her particular brand of 'magic' served her well in the role thrust upon her. It was very easy to feel the growing pains the two main characters were going through. Absolutely enjoyed every page of this book and gladly took the journey of page flipping to see what conclusion faces Claire and Tarik. As with all great books, I do find myself wondering what book two contains!
