This was my first linux book. Great as an intro to linux and a light reference to keep by your desk. It's not a book you read once and put away - you must reread it over and over to pick up on the commands that make linux so powerful. It's going to take some effort, and many side trips to the net, so don't be discouraged. I don't recomend it to the initiated - it does'nt have enough meat.

I ordered this book thinking that it would be a good book to learn the terminal.Come to my surprise it is very outdated! If you are using ubuntu 10.10 and up you should avoid wasting your money on this book. Was this review helpful?
