U.F. Off: The Best of Orbby The Orb
A brief, 12-track trip through the Orb's singles archive, U.F. Off includes mixes of just about every single from "A Huge Evergrowing Pulsating Brain" through "Toxygene" (though not in strictly chronological order). Singles compilations for electronic artists hardly ever fit the bill for longtime listeners or neophytes, yet this one is put together well and remains a solid addition to any collection. The double-disc version includes additional remixes plus a few unreleased tracks ("Mickey Mars," "Pi").

The Orb's ambient sounds are great. The best are Little Fluffy Clouds, Towers of Dub, and PI (pt. 1). If you are looking for a great relaxing ambient techno cd, instead of the drum riffs of Prodigy, Crystal Method, or Chemical Brothers, go with U.F.Off: Best of the Orb.
This album is for modern techno what Yaz's Upstairs at Eric's was in the early '80s, namely, a classic that will hold its own long after the genre fades from popular consciousness...Excellent!
Really a masterful achievement! I've listened to all of the songs on the album and can honestly say; only by releasing great album afer great album could Orb put together a greatest hits collection, that blends so smoothly together, as it orbviously has. Orb lays it down with some hard-hitting techno trance beats and still has the audacity to blend sultry ambient rhythyms that take you completely to another land. If you've never heard them, I highly recommend you check this album out.
