After trying a variety of other Uke books which started out really basic but stayed at that "your first week of playing" level, we finally found this one. This one will take you from your first week right on through more advanced levels with more in-depth info as you need and want it. Instead of wasting hours trying to find more info on the internet (hours that could've been spent getting better at the uke!), you just have it all right here, in one handy volume, ready to go.

The first five chapters are the most beneficial for a beginning ukulele player. I would have liked more songs on the beginning level to play before the more difficult songs and arrangements. Ukulele for Dummies covers a large variety of information on ukuleles and comes with a decent cd for audio learning.

This is the one book you should have if you are a starter through intermediate. It is written plainly, logically and humorously by an expert. I have several starter books, all good, but this one does not require frequent studying to determine what the author means. The author also has a killer website with loads of good stuff, and he personnally answers queries. Marty Medak
